HTML Codes

PLEASE NOTE: REPLACE ALL "["s and "]"s WITH THEIR CORRESPONDING ARROWHEADS. FOR EXAMPLE: IF I HAVE [BLAH BLAH BLAH] THEN YOU SHOULD TYPE THE SAME THING EXCEPT REPLACE THE BRACKETS WITH "<" AND ">". UNDERSTAND? Good, now let's get started.

Now here's some simple HTML:

to put background music on your site, put the following code into your header space

[bgsound src="http://www.blahblahblah.com/whatever.mp3, wma, mpg, or whatever it is" autostart="true" loop="infinite"]

alerts - [SCRIPT]alert("")[/SCRIPT] now remember type whatever you want it to say between the quotation marks.

scrolling marquees a normal marquee - [marquee]"what ever you want it to say"[/marquee] a bouncing marquee - [marquee behavior=alternate]"blah blah blah"[/marquee] up, down, left, or right marquee - [marquee direction=]"BLAH BLAH BLAH![/marquee]

note: put either up, down, left or right after the equal sign and before the closing bracket "]". i hope you're remembering to change the "["s and the "]"s.

Text Attributes

changing the font color - [font color=""]blah blah blah![/font] P.S. fill in those little quotation marks by using the color palette link i've inserted below. this way you can look at the colors and see the code for it. for instance, the code for red is "FF0000" <--- those are zeroes! not O's!

^ you can figure out the codes for the other colors by going to the Xanga Color Palette.

here are the different sizes to use for the text: [H1]your words here[/H1] - the largest size [H2]your words here[/H2] - the second largest et cetera. but the sizes only go to [H6]your words here[/H6] - that's the smallest

to make something bold, italicized, underlined, etc. put your text that you want bold or italicized or whatnot between the ">" and "<".

italics - [I] [/I]

boldness - [B] [/B]

underline - [U] [/U]

superscript - [SUP] [/SUP]

subscript - [SUB] [/SUB]

(note: the subscript will alter your text)

basic links - [A HREF="the website here; including the http://..."]what you want the link to say[/A]

this is how you make different colored scrollbars like the one i have on this site. click here to go a page that explains how to make color scrollbars.

i am putting the more tricky stuff down here.

here's a link that takes you to the site without clicking it (i know i know! it sounds confusing, but watch and learn!) roll your mouse over the link below, but don't click it:

Put your pointer over this.

now this took me 2 hours how to figure this out so listen carefully!

[A HREF="the main site, you know the place like www.blahblahblah.com. if you're plan on using a link that sends it somewhere on Xanga, then here you'd put www.xanga.com. Got it?" onMouseOver="parent.location='the place that you want it to go to! type everything including the http://'";]what you want the link to say[/A]

here's an example cuz i know you'll prolly need one:

[A HREF="www.xanga.com" onMouseOver="parent.location='http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=enfatchuated'";]enfatchuated's Xanga Site[/A]

now, if someone put that specific link on awebpage or their xanga page or sumthin, then, when the pointer passes over the link, they will automatically be sent to my xanga page cuz that's the address i have down for it to go to. of course you'd have to change the brackets to "<"s and ">"s for it to work; i hope you haven't forgot.

i don't have the patience to tell you the rest and, believe me, there's loads more. a useful site that helped me is HTML Codes.

that's it for now, let me find some more stuff out and then i'll post it for you. and for those of you who don't know: you place this HTML in your custom header space. or if you'd like, you can use them in your weblogs, though i'm not entrirely sure it will work. you're welcome to try, and if it does work. please e-mail me and let me know. sorry bout the confusion everyone.

DON'T FORGET TO REPLACE THE BRACKETS WITH THE ARROWHEADS!
