Just a fantastic performer and one of the guys I modeled my set list on. He’s just plain fantastic and the fact that he’s not world famous, and fucking Pete Murray is, well, the only good thing about that is we still can go see Nik night after night in and around Brisbane. Thank God the music industry doesn’t know its arse from its elbow. (For our sakes, I hope for Nik’s sake, they wake up to themselves soon!!) . Go see Nik (but only on a night I’m not in your area !!!!!!) |

The MAN !! Me and my best bud Eddie used to go and see Owen ply his trade up to four nights a week (I know, I know, we should have been chasing women, go figure!!) Owen is just the consummate professional performer. Back then I couldn’t play guitar and couldn’t sing a note (many would argue that is still the case.) Owen is just the best. His true love is playing blues and jazzy licks on the piano and he’s getting some awesome reviews for doing that. But my heart will always be with the Owen of old, us sitting around the Criterion piano after drinking 3784238754287 pots of $1.50 beer and annoying the shit out of one of the all time greats of Brisbane musicians. Now Owen mainly plays the Sunshine Coast. Go see him and tell him I said Hi. |
