The lake is a calling!

Ok, opening day 2003. The few day prior to opener were miserable. It was windy as all heck. The morning of the 10th start as just any other normal day with the slight exception of my alarm ringing at 3:50 AM. When I finally climbed out of bed I was pleasantly surprised to find that the wind had calmed and it wasn't all that bad out. I pack up the boat and headed east.

We (Phil and I) made it to the lake,Big Carnelian at about 6:00. The wind was calm and the lake was like glass. We got out on the water and Phil took a quick lead, right near the boat launch. We fished just north of the launch for a bit and didn't get anything else. We then headed up to the north end of the lake, We got a few more cigar sized bass. I then caught a nice 3 lbs + bass just off the point in stump bay. By this time the wind started to pick up pretty good so we headed to the more wind protected south end. I caught a few small northerns and we both got a few more bass. Every thing was small with the exception of the one nice bass I caught. In the end the total was Phil 12 me 6. However I was the only one with some pike, what we actually came to fish.
