Chapter 5
Things started getting heated up between Britney and Justin. She just couldn’t understand that he wanted nothing to do with her. "Why are you acting this way Juju? I thought you were my special lil’ teddy bear!," she asked with sadness in her voice. Justin swallowed hard, running his hands through his hair. He was trying to find the words to say, but they weren’t coming out. His hands fidgeted in his pockets, finding something that he put there for a reason. He didn’t dare pull it out because Britney might get the wrong idea. She started getting tears in her eyes, "Justin, talk to me." She only called him Justin when it was serious.
Justin took a deep breath, everyone was watching him intently. "Britney, I just can’t do it." She looked at him with a vacant expression. "What do you mean, Juju?" He cleared his throat, "First of all, don’t ever call me Juju again. I am not your teddy bear. There are somethings that you just can’t have, and I am one of them." Tears started running down her face as Justin kept talking. "The truth is Britney, what we had, was long ago. We are both older now and honestly, we’ve grown apart. You may not see it, but I do. And the truth is, there is someone else in my life. Someone I truly want to be with. Who has been here when I’ve been hurting? She has. Who always makes me feel better when I am down? She does. And frankly Britney, I love her to death." Everyone stared at Justin like he just killed someone. Shannon sat in her chair, holding the locket she bought for Justin tighter than ever, slowly starting to cry gently. Britney suddenly snaps out of her trance. "Who is this bitch? Huh? What kind of slut would replace me?! The one and only Britney Spears?!" Justin’s face turned away from Britney, tears starting to fall once again. He couldn’t stand to hear Shannon being called a slut or a bitch, it just wasn’t right. Lance jumped in between Justin and Britney. He softly started talking to Britney. "Brit, Justin is right. You can’t have everything you want. And I’m sorry, but we are going to have to ask you to leave. This is supposed to be Justin’s day, and you are making him very upset. If you really cared about him, you wouldn’t do this to him." Through the tears, she weeped out, "If he really cared about me, he wouldn’t do this to me." Lance just looked at her and said, "Well, at looks as if its a one-sided deal."
Britney ran out of JC’s backyard faster than lightning. Justin just smiled and thanked Lance for helping him out. Everyone went about their normal business until Justin interrupted once again. He walked over to Shannon and pulled her with him. She handed the locket back to him and he put it on. Just as he did, Britney came flying from inside the house and attacked both him and Shannon. Justin’s locket came flying off and Joey caught it, keeping it for safety.
