Chapter 20

Everyone met up at Kings and they went in. Luckily, no one had recognized them yet. They sat down and ordered, deciding they just wanted the Tons of Fun. "Wow Mandi, I remember the last time we ate this," Shannon laughed. They patiently waited for their ice cream when Shannon looked towards the door. "Shit, Kerri is here. I can’t stand that girl!" Justin turned around, "Why, what’s wrong with her?" Shannon turned back around, "I just can’t stand her. She thinks she is better than everyone else. Hopefully she doesn’t recognize you guys, because she is an N Sync fan, like many people in this town." Kerri must have seen Justin looking because she walked over. "Hey Ryan, what are you doing here?" She obviously thought that Justin was Ryan, a kid in Oil City that resembled Justin. Justin looked up at her and her mouth dropped, "Oh my god, you aren’t Ryan! You’re. . . you’re. . ." Shannon looked up at her, giving her an evil look. "You’re Justin, but. . . but what are you doing here with her?" Justin smiled, and said, "What? Is it a crime to go out to eat with your fiancée and your friends?" Kerri’s mouth dropped again, "FIANCÉE?!," she screamed. Chris grabbed her arm, "Will you keep it down? You are going to cause a scene, and believe me, if you do, we WON’T be happy." Soon, the waitress came back with their ice cream. Joey looked at Kerri, "As you can see, our food has arrived, so if you would be so kind, it would be nice if we can eat this in peace." Kerri looked shocked, "I thought you guys would be so much nicer than this! You guys are so rude." Justin looked up again from the table, "You know, we would have been nice, but you came over here and nearly caused a scene. And also, just because you don’t like my babygirl, doesn’t mean that you can be rude about it." Kerri stuck her nose up in the air, "Well, I can’t help it that she is a slut. I mean, she stole my boyfriend once!" Shannon was appalled, "What boyfriend did I steal?" Kerri was yelling in a whisper, "You know exactly who I mean! Don’t you even remember Cody?" Shannon dropped her spoon on the table, "Cody?! He was my FRIEND! He was nothing BUT a friend." Kerri gave her an evil look, "Sure, a friend with benefits." Shannon was getting really mad, "That is a bunch of shit! I can’t believe you would think that of me! I did nothing at all for you to hate me. I wasn’t the one that even started talking to Cody. He came to me. I forgot he isn’t allowed to have friends outside your little preppy circle!" Justin put his spoon down and interrupted, "Enough girls! I can’t stand this! No matter where I go, something has to be started. Now please, Kerri, if that is your name, we would like to eat." Kerri stomped off in anger, "Fine! I can’t help it if a little slut is dating a guy from N Stink!" Chris yelled back at her, "It’s N SUCK!" Shannon looked at Justin, "Now can you see why I don’t like her?" He just smiled and nodded as he ate his ice cream.

Luckily, no one else came over to their table for the rest of the night and they left a generous tip for the waitress. Once out at the cars, Joey and Lance said goodbye to Mandi and Tracy. They looked sad to be leaving them. "Don’t worry, we aren’t leaving town right away. We can spend more time together," Shannon told the four of them. Mandi smiled and gave Lance a kiss. Tracy did the same with Joey, and soon, Lance and Joey were back in the car.

"So guys, what’s up with Mandi and Tracy?," Shannon asked them. Joey spoke up first, "Tracy is the greatest. She’s so nice, and, words just can’t describe her." Everyone hooted and hollered for Joey as he blushed. "What about you Lance? What’s up with you and Mandi?," Justin asked. "She’s special, I think we might be ‘going’ somewhere." Everyone hooted and hollered for him too. Soon they were pulling into the driveway of Amber’s house. "Hey, Michael-Shannon is here. Amber just couldn’t keep the excitement to herself I suppose."
