Hard Drive Benchmark Comparison Database

A hard drive is not a hard drive when it comes to performance. The general drive specs can actually mean very little on face value. Storage Review maintains a database of performance benchmarks that they've gathered on a number of available disks on the market. The general performance leader is understandably Seagate's 15,000rpm Cheetah Ultra160 drive, but several of the next models in some of their categories are a little jaw-dropping. Which benchmark you take into consideration when making a purchase decision should be the one that is most applicable to the intended use. The results vary widely among different tests.

Many of these are either technology related or involve technology companies, so they may be more applicable than one might think. And what fun would such a list be without mocking Steve Ballmer's on- stage conniption fit?
