GM Law's

You must be a active in the league. This includes sending in lines, being regularly online. Responding to e-mails, participating on the message boards & sending in teams reports. *ALL TEAMS MUST SEND IN LINES AT LEAST ONCE PER WEEK.*

All hot mail user, please make sure your e-mail storage capacity is not reach to it's fullest that no e-mail will be accepted.

Teams cannot have more than 25 players on their professional roster, nor more than 50 players in total.

GM's may only run one team.

Respect must be shown to all other GM's in the league. GM's are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner. If you don't wish to accept a trade offer, explain why. Do not ignore instant message or a e-mail. If a GM acts in a disrespectful manner to you, don't stoop to their level in response, or you may find yourself disciplined along with the offender.

Failure to follow any of these rules will result in a warning. If a problem persists.

Free Agents

Any player whose contract expires who is 31 or older after the season ends (after aging) is an unrestricted free agent. UFA’s may be bid upon by any team. No compensation is given if a player is lost on UFA. The minimum any UFA (or unassigned player) will accept is $250,000.

Anyone 30 or under (after aging), is a restricted free agent when their contract runs out. Teams maintain rights to restricted free agents; so long as they give them a qualifying offer of 110% their current contract. If they are not offered this, they become UFA’s. As a UFA's, the player will accept the best offer that he gets.

To sign a RFA must give the current owner of the player draft picks as follows in the next draft or earliest draft possible:

Below $750,000 -- No compensation

$750,000 -- 3rd round pick

$1,500,000 -- 2nd round pick

$2,000,000 -- 1st round pick

$2,500,000 -- 2 1st round picks

$3,000,000 -- 3 1st round picks

$4,000,000+ -- 4 1st round picks

If the draft picks are not available. Then you can not get that player.

Owning teams may always match offers made to RFA's.

Handling The Cash

All teams began with $50,000,000.

At the start of the season you're payrole can not be over this amount. If it's over this amount after the last preseason has been played, then the following things could happen.

You will be warned that you need to cut the payrole. If not at the salery cap in a week, then you will be fired after the warning.

At no time can your payrole be over the cap.

If over the amount you have then you will be warned & after two weeks, if not fixed, you will be fired.

You can earn $400,000 every week that you do a interview of someone on your team. The interview has to atleast be 10 question interview long.

Every day that you post you will be giving $200,000. You will be giving the money on Saturday night. With this money you can add to pay your coach, for prospect signing, postion changes, & other things. Your team pay role goes to the players in the pros, not the farm team. You must have enough money to pay your players & your coach. For example, if you just hve 50 mill, your pro payrole is 50 mill. then you have no money to pay your coach, so some one has to be cut, or you need to make more money fast to pay the coach, other wise he may want out the contract .

At the end of the season, each team will receive $5,000,000 plus award money as follows:

President’s Trophy: $1,000,000

Conference Champion: $500,000 (not cumulative with the President’s Trophy)

Making the Playoffs: $250,000 (not cumulative with the above)

Making Round 2 of the Playoffs: $500,000

Making Round 3 of the Playoffs: $500,000

Doggie Style! Champions: $1,000,000

Doggie Style! Runner-up: $500,000

Player Drafts

The entry draft shall be four rounds. All draft picks will be between 18 and 22 years of age.

The draft will be one month after the championship game.

Players

Pro players' ratings are re-rated by the FHL program after every playoff. Players on the farm team re-rate periodically during the season as well as after the season. Drafted prospects re-rate after the playoffs. Re-rates by the FHL program are based on age, but are otherwise random.

Player positions may be changed. Changing a players’ position will cost a team $1,000,000 plus $250,000 per point over 60 in training costs. A player who changes position will re-rate down 1-5 points. Furthermore, only forwards may change positions (and only to other forward positions), nobody over the age of 25 may change positions and nobody over an OV rating of 72 may change positions.

Players may play out of position. Players playing out of position don't play to the full extent of their ability.

Players will age one year after each season, before free agency and before retirements.

The following are the ratings each player's ability is measured by (rated from 25 (worst) to 99+ (best)):

IJ - Injury: Approximately how long a player is out with an injury for.

IT - Intensity: For skaters, this denotes toughness and willingness to hit and use the body. For goalies, it denotes his ability to play in tune with the game (find shots through screens, respond to a deflected shot, stop a shot while on his back, etc).

SP - Speed: Quickness of skaters, reaction time of goalies.

ST - Strength: Size of the player.

EN - Endurance: Player's ability to get lots of ice time without wearing out.

DU - Durability: Player's chance to resist injury.

DI - Discipline: Player's chance to stay out of the penalty box.

SK - Skating: Skater's ability to deke, turn quickly, etc. For goalies, it's the ability to side-to-side movement and ability to get up and down and still make the save.

PA - Passing Accuracy: Ability to make good passes.

PC - Puck Control: For skaters, the ability to keep the puck through checks and dekes. Also a goalie's ability to control rebounds.

DF - Defense: Skater's ability to play responsibly and in position. Not applicable to goalies.

SC - Scoring: Skater's ability to put the puck in the net. Not applicable to goalies.

EX - Experience: Player's pro hockey experience, including playoff experience.

LD - Leadership: Ability to lead a team and make the rest of the team play to the best of their ability

Rosters & Coaches

Only 25 players are allowed on the pro roster, excluding injured players. Failure to keep it under 25 players will result in a warning. If not fixed in 2 weeks. You will be fired.

There must be 20 players on the active roster, including a minimum of 2 goalies, 3 centers, 3 right wings, 3 left wings, and 4 defensemen.

All teams must have 3 goaltenders on their combined roster at all times. Failure to do so will result in the team being forced to hire an unassigned goaltender at a random contract price, determined by the commissioner (me!).

Rosters and lines are done through a program called GM Editor. After each simulation, the league files must be downloaded and put into the same folder as the GM Editor file. Lines are saved as a file called "Teamname.lns", which must then be sent into the league at DSHLCommish@aol.com. You can download the editor at www.fhlsim.com.

No player rated 74 (OV) or higher, may be placed on the farm roster. Players of that rating must be brought to the professional club. You will be warn of this, & if not fixed in 1 week, That player will demand a trade.

Captains

All teams must name 1 captain and 2 assistant captains to their team. Captains receive a +10 increase to their LD rating (maximum 99), assistant captains get a +5 to LD. Goalies may not be named captain or assistant captain. NO CAPTAINS WILL BE TRADED DOING THAT YEAR. You must name a captain before the season start. If you do not, the commish will named them for you. They will stay captains till the season ends.

Coaches

Coaches may be hired from the list in the coach page. New coaches may be created for the Doggie Style League. New coaches will enter in the off-season only. Coaches will re-rate based on their team's performance. Unassigned coaches will randomly re-rate. Coaches may be hired or fired during the season or off-season. Firing a coach costs the team

half of his yearly contract. To hire a new coach, you must enter negotiations with him. This will be done via e-mail. However he will not take over till you post a newsconference of the hiring.

You must fire the old coach for one week doing the season. You will be assign temporary coach till you hire him or a new Coach. The temporary coach will work that week for free. But after that week you haven't hired a coach that temp. coach will cost you $500.00 a game.

Coaches will always sign for the most money and the longest contract. The minimum any coach can be offered is $250,000 and the longest term you can hire them for is 4 years.

Trades

Trades are encouraged. You may trade players, draft picks, prospects and money. All trades will be examined for viability. Trades that are lopsided or obviously ill conceived, will simply be disallowed. Should any trade or series of trades in fact, or in appearance, smell of collusion, they shall be reversed in their entirety if possible. If that is not possible, compensation to the harmed teams shall be worked out.

If any team has a concern about a trade, do not hesitate to contact me. While I may not agree with you, I will at very least answer you. The trade committee will consist of two GM’s plus myself, who will examine any questionable trades before approving them.

The trade deadline is 80% of the way through the season.

Both parties must send all trades to the league individually.
