What are Telomeres?

Telomeres are the physical ends of linear eukaryotic chromosomes. The telomers are specialized complexes that have important functions like: protection, replication, and stabilizatoin of the chomromosome ends. Telomeres also have terminal repeats. These terminal repeats are found in all vertebrates with the same simple sequence in their telmeres: (TTAGGG)
