The Valley Vanguard is one of two campus newspapers at Saginaw Valley State University. It is run entirely by students.

The Vanguard has served the nearly 10,000 students of Saginaw Valley State University with campus and local news since 1966. The weekly newspaper has a circulation of 2,500. It is published and distributed weekly, on Mondays, during the fall and winter semesters. An annual summer issue is published as well.

The Vanguard is available throughout the campus of SVSU as well as other local establishments such as Barnes & Noble and Cardinal Deli. The Vanguard covers the University's campus, administration, athletics, faculty and culture as well as the township of Kochville and its surrounding areas.
