It's your first time at a goth club, ever.
Or perhaps it's your tenth time, but you've never felt like you fit in, and never had much luck with the dark ladies.
And across the room you see her. A vision of shiny black loveliness. Like Geiger's mother alien, only without the extra sets of jaws - you hope. Her grace of movement and sweet face entrance you - not to mention the cleavage - and you know must make her yours, or make a fool of yourself trying!

But wait! Before you make like Don Juan, I'd like to give all of you a few pointers. As a goth chick who gets approached frequently by normal guys, I see the same mistakes repeated over and over, and they don't get more endearing as time passes. Let me help you avoid these pitfalls, and we may be getting together for dinner sometime soon. :)
The first thing to keep in mind is, although you may have come to the goth club hoping to meet goth chicks, chances are, she didn't come to the goth club hoping to meet normal guys. Don't assume she's as excited to meet a normal person as you are to meet a freak. She came to meet and interact with other goths. So you're working with a handicap.
Bearing that in mind, you're going to need all the advantages you can get! Read on to find out what you need to know.

First, a little prep work. Have you been going to the club in shorts and a flannel shirt? Shame on you! How did you get past the bouncer? Try something a little classier, something that will fit in with your surroundings while catching the eyes of the pretties.
Black jeans and a black T-shirt are okay, but don't stand out from the crowd. Pick up a black silk dress shirt (goths love "pettable" clothing, and it encourages people to touch you) or maybe some accessories, like a bondage belt or interesting silver necklace. Goths are noncomformists, but dressing to fit the mood of the club is a sign of respect for our community that is definitely appreciated by all.
But don't stop with the superficial. Learn something about the subculture.
