About the darned price of things, girl, I got no help fer ya in the way of suggesting what to do...
On the other hand, Steve tells me that once during his college years at Butler, a well known flute player showed up to give some workshop help to the class and during the go of it, everyone noticed (and spoke of, no doubt) his extremely fine flute.
He promptly borrowed a "class" flute, brass and beaten a bit, and proceded to "wow" the whole class with a small Barber piece that left no eye dry....
Now, I'm sure you can percieve what I've just told you, but, of course, you'de still like that hp product, no doubt. Today I went about trying to find a printer which I would use to print some of m'paintings and sell them as cards folks could send to their family and friends. Living out in the country has its advantages, to be sure. The only example I can think of is somewhat crude, but apt. Steve and I live in the same house (not as a couple....) but there is only one bathroom. If after a long drive I see him bolt from the car to inside, I'm fairly certain he is laying claim to the seat. If it's a case of #1, I can just wander over to any of a dozen trees in the front yard and complete m'mission. On this day, though, the closest "deal" that I saw in the paper was some 35 miles away. And, to be sure, the amount of money I had in mind spending (twenty to fourty bucks) would not suffice. Oh, they had product there at those price ranges, but, I needed something a bit better. 15-20 pages per minute would have sufficed, and I sure don't want to stand at the machine poking paper in one sheet at a time if it doesn't handle big lots of cardstock.
Why did I mention the bathroom business on the lawn? Just to emphasize that even a small loss (gas and time in this case) is better than either getting a cheaper product that cannot do what you need it to, or, fer sure, it ain't worth going in debt for.
However, perhaps you could consider pawn shops, computer trade magazines with ads of used stuff, or even posting an ad at your local grocery store stating your wanted-to-buy status....
Anyway, good luck. As for me, I found out three useful things today....
One, I'll need between $100 - 175 to get the equipment that I need
Two, I'll also need another twenty bucks for paper products,
and lastly Three, I should also consider getting an additional set of color ink right from the start.
If yer ever in the area (35 miles north of Indianapolis) and ya need to use the bathroom...or just stop'n'chat... come on by.
SEE YA
BERRY
