It's 2am and my laptop is showing it's age...

My beloved Toshiba Satellite A15-S157 will be 2 years old in August, which I understand from those in the technical know is actually quite old.

The fan can be a bit noisy. The memory, which was top o' the line in 2003, is now almost inadequate for my needs. I am doing a lot with Elements and my photography, and that sucks the life out of the poor old girl.

I was looking at a jazzy HP today with 1024MB and 200GB. Currently I am working with 512MB and 40GB, and can't imagine the kind of work I could do with the big numbers. It would be like when ET made the bicycles fly.

The stores are all offering 12 and 18 months no interest, but at the end of those months you are hit with a wallop of debt if you aren't paid up. As much as I would like that HP there is no way I am paying 200 a month for it.

The plan is to put some cash in my savings every week and buy something outright like I did the Toshiba.

A Dell Desktop with the same numbers, a cheaper price and an in home service plan is also under consideration.

I can always use the Toshiba at the coffee bar for writing and stuff.

We begin to get practical as we get older.

And I am wondering how I really feel about that.

Went to see that new Nicole Kidman movie The Interpreter last night.
She is about the coldest looking woman alive or is she?
I'm sure if I met her I'd think she was warm and friendly yadda yadda, but she can look like quite the meanie on the screen.
She was terribly miscast as the wife of a dying Michael Keaton in a movie called My Life. She was excellent as an uptight ghost mom in The Others. And I have to say she sang her sequins off in Moulin Rouge.
She does a commendable job in The Interpreter, but her costar Sean Penn is better.
Today I woke up incredible late, raced to the bank and jumped on the subway to make an appointment.
The appointment went well, and I stood around yapping and yapping until I realized class was starting in 24 minutes.
I was two express stops and four blocks away from school, but I actually made it on time.
Tuesday is an exam, and I have to get in there early to practice.
Think I'll call my buddy up and gab with her.

The most important moment in your life is the present time. This is the time to look within and experience God. There is no other. You cannot wait for a better place, another better time, another better person to be with to experience God. This is the very moment.

Ooops!
I put in my birth not the current year; so this is a four not a five year.

The Four Personal Year - Taking Care of Business
This is the year to take care of business. So now down to the nitty gritty. You are ready to settle down and put down roots. You want everything organized and in its place. This is not a a gee, I have to do it, but great, now I can do it and really enjoy the work. You are making plans and goals and accomplish them. The results will be flavored, however, by your intentions. Is your outlook only for yourself or for the greater good of everybody? Depending on your choice your accomplishments will be totally different. You act very responsibly this year and what you set out to do, you see through. You are planning for the future. In any dealings you have it is important to get to know the facts and not to take risks. Your focus is on mending and repairing rather than daydreaming. You're more self-assured and trust your instincts and don't accept others opinions as easily. But at the same time respect other people's opinions as equal and don't criticize them for being different from yours. Having to work on something you have already done will bore you and make you feel confined. So keep an eye open for new projects that challenge you. There is no way getting around budgets and routine this year. Keep your promises and work through difficult situations. Next year will be much freer. Don't let the restrictive feeling bring you down. When the year is over and you look back you will be proud of what you have accomplished.

My Personal Year is 5...
Topic: Found While Online...

I typed in my birthdate and this came up.

Find Your Personal Year

The Five Personal Year - Change and Surprise

You are smack dab in the middle of the 9 year cycle and in dire need of a break. You have this strong urge to break free and change things and try something new. You need a change of scenery. Change will be all around you and so will surprises. Things will happen when you least expect it and when you do expect it will turn out totally different, especially in May and September. But, watch out for change for the sake of change only. Avoid impulsive decisions and don't burn your bridges. Stay flexible and count to 10 before making any decisions that will have lasting effects that you might regret your impulsiveness. It will be very easy to go overboard this year after the restricting 4 year. Socialize and promote yourself and your projects. Your enthusiasm will be catching and attracting people. Guard against overindulgence and use your energy wisely. Following rules will
not appeal to you this year. Finding a new job or having an affair are just two of the many possible scenarios for you this year

Taking the analogy of a farmer planting a field, a critical time for the plants, they will either grow big and strong or die.
