"Eulogy of Bodily Disdain"

A face of incandescence and a paper doll-smile

You waited until I bowed my head

Oblivious as you unveiled a mouth of razor-sharp glory

I picture you with sunken eyes

Wrist dampened bandages

As I speak my throat falls to my stomach

As I speak my mouth is lodged with a relic of this embodiment

You look different from below

Gape at you through shattered eyes

The sight of a million angels has rendered me immaterial

And the smell of April dusk has burned away your sweet stale perfumes

The rotting remnants of your flesh I've kept too dear underneath blackened fingernails

With these bolts in my back I'm unhygienic and polluted with love

Molded of filth and hardened to a statue of agony

An admonished reminder to those who stake their heart for the game

Placed hung wrist as your public spectacle

An admonished reminder to those who stake their heart for the game of love

Meaninglessly ripped away

As I weep into an evasive blackness my silence becomes my only reward

The thickening crust of blood and tears in my throat becomes the only solace

I gave the light from my eyes with a hand on your face…
