Apparently John Thomas Bozeman born 1866 continued farming the 40 acres that his father had and John married four times, mostly out of need, to have someone take care of his children. His first wife Alice died shortly after giving birth to little John, and he "had to marry right away". Family says that John was a kind, hard working man but his brother Peter James Bozeman was very mean. Peter beat his wife and children until one of them shot him and slowed him down a bit.
John's son Rollie Bozeman had that same mean personality until his wife shot his leg.
John's girls, Lorena and Ethel had wonderful marriages and several children and all stayed in Montgomery AL. The children all helped with the farming to survive along with growing their vegetables, they loaded the cotton onto a horse drawn wagon to sell on Dexter Avenue in Montgomery and were overjoyed to spend the night in a hotel there and sleep on really nice beds. The girls talked of their mother having black hair and eyes and how she had gone out to help find her brother in the cold so soon after giving birth to little John and she took ill and died at Sellers Station. They recalled their nice new stepmother, Ellen, and her long blond hair. Lorena had long dark hair twisted up in a bun and got down on her knees by her bed to pray every night. She taught us all to give thanks to the Lord for his blessings.
