Mostly I ride bicycles, tinker with bicycles, enjoy cycling.
I also enjoy reading, proof that you needn't be a pale, indoor nerd to enjoy prose. Books I've read recently (sometimes two an evening) include:
Me, Hood, by Mickey Spillane
The Fountainhead, by Ayn Rand (re-read for the 3rd time)
The Rider, by Tim Krabbe (re-read)
Congo, by Michael Crichton
Mutation, by Robin Cook (re-read -- I first read it in grade school)
The Art of Urban Cycling, by Robert Hurst (re-read for the 3rd time)
The Chancellor Manuscript, by Robert Ludlum
The Phantom of the Opera, the Original Novel, by Gaston Leroux
The Gemini Contenders, by Robert Ludlum
Unstoppable Global Warming; every 1,500 Years, by S. Fred Singer and Dennis T. Avery
Tour de France: The History, the Legend, the Riders, by Graeme Fife (re-read, second time)
...
I'm a pretty ecclectic (if that's the word?) listener when it comes to music. Most of my music was recorded before i was born -- Jim Croce, Dylon, early Springsteen. Right now I'm alternating between Dave Murphy, a local guy who used to play at the now-defunct Sweet Dreams Cafe in Madison, NJ, where I used to ride my bike in college, and some new stuff by a band called Five for Fighting, with some old tracks from Warren Zevon thrown in. Also, Bob Seger's relatively new CD including the track "wait for me" which is explicitly about riding. Mr. Seger probably means a motorbike judging by the album cover but the vibe is directly applicable to my case...!
