My Little Pony Page

Welcome to the My Little Pony page.
Here you will find a few things that are obviously My Little Pony related. I am not by any means an expert on My Little Pony nor am I a lover of Ponyville, G2 or the new G3 (2009 to present) ponies.
My passion is the G1s and the G3s (pre-2009) and of course customs! That is the type of My Little Pony related information and stuff you will find here.

As with any collection (or obsession as some cases turn out to be) it all started with one thing. For me it started with a My Little Pony called Moondancer (which I finally managed to add to my herd on 1/29/10) way back in 1983. My entire collection consisted of Moondancer and a plush named Firefly (added to herd on 11/19/09--the first member of the herd too!). My parents kept buying me new my little ponies, but they kept getting stolen and those two were the only ones I could hold on to. They've also become my favorites.

It's been years since I even thought about My Little Pony and was excited to hear about their return in 1997... that is of course until I actually saw them. One look and I was turned off. I didn't want little colored four-legged, lizard-looking creatures adorning my shelves! NO WAY! It wasn't until early in November 2009 that I saw a unique custom (you'll find her on the customs page) when I Googled 'dragon charms' that drew me back into My Little Ponies. I found the new G3s to be pony looking and quite agreeable.

When you're looking for something specific to buy that's not new or currently in stores, where is the first place you think of? Yeah. eBay. So that's where I decided to start. When it comes to My Little Pony however, that is a bad rookie mistake. No, seriously. BAD!! Just take a look at the image below:
what i didn't win
As you can clearly see some of these people are out of their minds! $300 for 122 ponies? Seriously? (UPDATE: I later found out that the person who won the $300 auction lives in France and gave the seller a bad feedback because the custom charges were too much. How sweet of them). Yeah, I'll pass thanx. After not winning any auction I gave up on eBay. I can't afford those type of prices, nor if I could would I even want to. So a quick look around at a couple of My Little Pony sites I had found thanks to Google and I found the two most useful and just what I was looking for sites!

The My Little Pony Arena and The My Little Pony Trading Post have trades and ponies for sell from other collectors. Both have a feedback system much like eBay's and neither are auction formats so the price I see is the price I'll pay, plus shipping. There is absolutely no stress involved what so ever. No having to watch or stay near your computer in case you're out bid and no spending hundreds of dollars, which in this economy is a good thing. I've already done some buying and the people are friendly, the atmosphere is more welcoming and you can really get to know the people you deal with. Unlike eBay where once the deal is done, you never deal with that person again--usually. Of course Paypal is the method of payment at the Arena and Trading Post so your purchases are going to be covered for those 'just in case' times that I hope never happen. And if you're wondering, I still do a victory dance when I buy an item. Just because I didn't win it in a stress filled auction doesn't mean I'm not damned happy about finding what I was looking for, messaging the seller and being able to buy it at a price where I don't have to take out a second mortgage! In fact, I think that deserves more of a dance don't you?

One thing I have noticed while traversing these sites is the acronyms for terms that can be quite important to know. I'll be nice and break it down for you here , if you see one with no explanation it means I haven't figured that one out yet!

Now that's out of the way *whew!*, I also started to customize my own ponies. I've read far too many tutorials on the subject and I feel like I might be able to do one in my sleep. Then again...You'll find my customs on the Custom My Little Pony page. If I have one for sell, a price in USD will be listed with it. More information on that on the appropriate page. You'll also find customs of other people of whom I love their work. I will provide links to these people so you can deal directly with them if you're interested.

I also have a check/wish list. This can also be used as a pony identifier in case you've got a pony in your hands and need to know who it is. Please read that page carefully though. I really don't want to be getting emails telling me I don't have such-n-such pony on my list. The reason is mentioned on that page and I'll quickly state it here-- it's not listed because it is NOT a pony I am interested in owning. There are links on that page to other sites that list all of the ponies.
