Listen to George Minsway, a Burmese democracy spokesman at the start of a vigil (Aug 8, 2001) at The White House with respect to the present ruling military junta in Burma known today as the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC). This vigil is to support Daw Aung San Suu Kyi (1991 Nobel Peace Laureate) who won the polls by a landslide (392 seats out of 485). She is imprisoned under house arrest since winning The National League for Democracy (NLD) parlimentary election with 82% of the vote on May 27, 1990. The SPDC failed to honor the election results. There is fear for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's life and personal safety because the brutal regime is power crazy. The Burmese Democracy group also is working with the US Congress in legislation which would ban the US import of $300 million yearly of Burmese exports. The bill is S.926.

Terrorist Attack on The United States - September 11, 2001

Today has been a tragic day in the United States. This morning two highjacked aircraft flights were flown directly into the World Trade Buildings shortly after 8:30 AM. Both buildings were totally demolished. There were thousand of fatalities. In the Washington, DC area the third flight was flown into the Pentagon. We are under attack by Islamic terrorists. President Bush speaking from Florida spoke to the Nation. The Taliban spokesman spoke from Kabul. A third plane crashed south of Pittsburgh, PA.

These attacks occurred against the two centers in America with the most numbers of workers. The first time that the World Trade Towers were bombed in 1993. So far the Taliban and Palestinian groups have perhaps coordinated together for this disasterous terrorist activity today!
