My name is Victor L Foster. Welcome to my web site. I am a professional translator and terminologist with a wealth of experience gained in a relatively short period of time since my graduation in December 2002 from the Applied Linguistics program at Kent State University. My language pairs are French > English and English > French. With English being my native language I prefer to and mostly work from French into English. Among my professional experiences I can count a terminology conversion project I completed for the Language Services Division of the US Department of State , Millipore S.A.S., a maker of microbiology products for whom I translated user manuals as well as a fairly extensive terminology/glossary project for EG Localisation located near Brest, France. As part of my quest for the utmost in professionalism, I make extensive use of computer aided translation tools like Trados and Wordfast. Of the two, I prefer Trados because it offers more features and its glossary component is much more advanced. However, Wordfast has the advantage of not being tied to a single computer platform and is capable of exchanging TMs and other files between Trados, Deja Vu and other translation programs.
