The emergence of new work practices over the last decade clearly affect both the technical and the behavioural skills needed,  especially in the high performance workplace. Increasingly there is far more attention paid to higher levels of education and training, learning and continuous improvement. Much greater emphasis is also being placed on rapid responses to changes in customer behaviour and competitor activity. Below is a series of articles which distinguish between skills in people and skills in jobs; the skills which people bring to jobs such as talents, abilities and competencies and those that jobs require, such as role requirements and task demands.
