Patent Model Washing Machine Oregon Missouri Patent # 155,873


Mr Daniel Kunkel of Oregon Missouri felt he had a great idea in washing machines.The US Patent Office felt he had some unique ideas and gave his invention Patent # 155,873 on May 29th 1874 for the improvement in washing machines.

His invention consists of a combination of rollers and a disk, shafts and gear-wheels.

A grouping of shafts, blocks and other parts will take hold of the clothes and “sweep them through the suds”…….The top opens easily for the clothes to be put in or out. A well made gear driven model.

Looking at the photo, the agitator looks like one from today, upside down of course................
