The Broken Arch of The Triquetra

For three years, three sisters fought with vigor and might, trying to protect innocents from the clutches of demonic assassins and warlocks.  For three years these sisters have relied on their main source of power, the basis and principle upon which they face their challenges, that with its absence would render the sisters powerless: The Power of Three.  This is the principle upon which the Charmed Ones were constituted: strong alone, yet strongest together...three working as one to be bear the force of evil.

By receiving their new powers, the sisters had to accept and recognize that the destiny upon which they had boarded onto required them to let go of many things, sacrificing aspects of their personal and social lives, and ultimately, death; in an attempt to save their secret and avoid  the destruction of their destiny.  The sisters also had to accept that not every innocent would be saved nor any demon or warlock vanquished...that their purpose is not to save the world, but to do great good.

But why can't the sisters reveal their new-found reality  to the world?  Why should they keep the secret?  Wouldn't they be known as heroes and their hard work appreciated?  We had a glimpse of the possibilities of this revelation during the last episode of the third season, "All Hell Breaks Loose".  By revealing their secret, despite being unintentional, we saw the possible reactions of the world should this revelation happen. We, as human beings, often fear the things that we can't understand, or become confused about them, or perhaps even try to persecute those things that we fear without knowing the true side of things.  And as the episode's title itself indicates, the fear of the newfound truth greatly caused and created an environment of chaos and calamity to a degree that the sisters have never experienced before, to an extent where, ironically, the ordinary and common people were capable of creating a severer chaotic environment for the sisters probably worse than any of the demons or warlocks they've faced in their past  has done (despite the fact that the chaos was indirectly caused by a demon itself).  Therefore, "All Hell [Broke] Loose."

In this turmoil of events where we saw wall blasts, a deep revelation, mobs, back and forth switching of the sisters' roles as "demons" or heroes, a death and a near death, and even a time reset through a dark deal.  Through this chain of events we notice that there was an absence of the Power of Three mostly throughout the events...a separation of one of the sisters who had gone to pursue one of the only things she decided her destiny would never force her to give up, love.  This therefore separated one of the three archs of the Power of Three...giving us an idea of the sisters' powerlessness and vulnerability without this source of power, again, strong alone, yet strongest together...

The conclusion, unfortunately, led to the death and loss of one of the sisters, perhaps ironically, the one thought to be the strongest heir of the Power of Three, ironically, the one who seemed invincible, the one who seemed to have sacrificed the most in her devotion to her destiny, often forgetting that life was also made for enjoying, and again, ironically, the one who was the first to wake up at the chime of evil, full of zeal to plan strategies, and always the one first prepared: Prudence Haliwell, to whom this page is dedicated.  Perhaps it was this zeal and enthusiasm that contributed to the downfall of the Power of Three, the overzealous pursuit of Shax in broad daylight...perhaps believing in the Charmed Ones' invincibilty...sadly we bid her farewell with difficulty, wherever her wandering soul may be, accepting a new reality and welcoming the winds of a new beginning through the reconstitution of the Power of Three through a new sister.
