Why is satellite TV better than cable?
- clearer picture
- higher variety of channels
- at least $10 cheaper than cable for the same number of channels
- HBO movies on demand (pause and forward)
- Personal Digital Video Recorder (PVR)
- You can have Direct TV on your Boat or in your RV!
While some cable companies
have upgraded to digital cable offering more channels and better picture than
basic analog cable TV, having a dish system is still far more convenient in
terms of picture quality, price, and available options.
Does rain
affect Satellite TV reception?
While extremely heavy rain is likely
to negatively impact your satellite TV reception, this hardly ever happens in
the real world, the phenomenon being considered more like a theoretical
scenario. Reception on bad weather depends on the size of your dish antenna. DirecTV has tested reception on
very bad weather and obviously they only install antennas that are large enough
so subcribers won't encounter reception problems.
Is it legal to have
a satellite dish? What if I live in an apartment?
As long as your
dish does not affect your neighbors in any way, you can have it installed. Even
if you live in an apartment you can have a satellite dish if your apartment has
an individual balcony. Regardless of what your neighbors or building manager
say, you have the right to have a satellite dish, provided that you meet the
afore-mentioned requirements.
