4/30/07 : Welcome CFW fans to another installment of the CFW Action Hotline. I am your host, CFW TV backstage interviewer Mark Graham. In today's installment of the Hotline, I will be bringing you all the backstage happenings, the possible comings & goings, as well as other assorted dirt. So let's dive right into the rumor mill, shall we?
* Word from CFW Headquarters is that a Hall of Famer has contacted CFW regarding a return to the promotion. From what my sources have told me, this individual didn't ask to return. This individual didn't inquire about the possibilities of a return. According to my sources, this individual WANTS to return. Unfortunately, I have no specifics on who this person is, not even a clue.
* Speaking of CFW Headquarters, Todd Vickers will be in attendance at the May 2 edition of CFW TV, live from the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, CT. Word going around is that Todd Vickers will clear the air on many subjects, as well explain where he stands regarding his future with or without CFW.
* To answer your questions, yes, all of the current CFW titles are vacated. The officials inside CFW Headquarters have decided on HOW they will crown a new World Heavyweight Champion. As far as WHO will be competing for the belt, that remains to be seen. Regarding the other vacant CFW titles, I've heard that those will be decided anywhere from one-on-one contests, tag team bouts, a battle royal and perhaps event a tournament.
* Word going around is that CFW may be debuting another weekly show. The details on the show have been kept underwraps. But if this show is given the green light, then Priemtime Wednesday Night would more than likely face cancellation.
2/19/07 :
* The Connecticut Heritage Title may be receiving yet another makeover. Late last year, Todd Vickers decided to rename the title in honor of then CFW wrestler Javier Reyes. In 2007, Todd looks to revamp the title by giving it its own set of rules. What these rules are, I don't know. But look for them to be something that totally separates this title from the rest of the CFW Championships, making the belt not only unique, but a highly sought after title in CFW once again.
* For the past several years, CFW has had three specialty matches. The CFW Rumble, the Ruler of the Ring Tournament, and the Hell on Earth match. The CFW Rumble is still planned to co-headline the CFW: Revenge pay per view in April. The Ruler of the Ring Tournament will still take place. However, it will more than likely be renamed and it may not take place at the Ruler of the Ring pay per view. One of the new names for the tournament that's been floating around is the "Young Lions Tournament." Regarding Hell on Earth, Todd still plans to have the event in 2007. When, exactly, has yet to be determined. Though Todd is looking to have the event still be two teams of four with timed entries and elimination rules. Also, while it is not considered apart of CFW's specialty matches, Todd will be looking to have the Connecticut Cup Tournament later on in the year.
* A "disgruntled" former employee who walked out on CFW late last year has been secretly inquiring about a possible return to the promotion, possibly at the CFW: Revenge pay per view in the CFW Rumble Match. Todd Vickers was unavailable for comment.
* Quick update on the CFW injury list. As reported in the last edition of the Hotline, "The Ultimate Excellence" Rage had a setback in his rehabiliation as he reinjured his shoulder. No word on when the "Hot Bod International Spectacle" will be returning to action. "Thug Life" Shawn Houston was in an unfortunate car accident some weeks back. While he has yet to regain consciousness, his condition has not taken a turn for the worst. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, Michelle Nolan, Kaylie, and "Vegas" Vince Rivers. And finally, Ace Andrews, who suffered a Grade I MCL Tear in his match with then CFW wrestler Jack Diamond at Winter Warfare, is looking to return to action. This could be why he was spotted around CFW Headquarters recently.
* For the fans of the CFW Vault, CJM Productions (formerly KaRnAgE productions) is looking to give you all a special treat. Within the next few weeks, CFW will be airing the first ever episode of CFW TV for the first time in nearly seven years. For those new to CFW, you'll be amazed at how far CFW has come when you compare the very first episode of CFW TV to recent CFW programming.
* CFW will be having its Hall of Fame inductions during WrestleFest VII weekend. Finalists include: The Knight, "The Excellency" Triple X, Mr. Canoli, Lauren, Bruce Edward King III, The Steel Foundation, and more.
2/17/07 : * Just who was behind that mysterious message at the end of CFW TV? In case you missed it, it went something along the lines of this:
"If the bars of Damnation get to you first."
"Destruction of the Soul."
Everyone's immediate guess was Todd Vickers? However, sources close to Todd have told me that he was in fact NOT involved with the airing of that message, let alone the one behind it. Todd has been unavailable for comment.
* Speaking of Todd, Deuce Jackson has been reported as saying that Todd has used this hiatus as an excuse to not only hide from him, but to also stall on paying up the money he owes to Deuce’s employers. Regardless of whether Todd was behind that message or not, Deuce appears to be hell bent on going through with his plan, which is taking out the entire CFW roster until Todd has no choice but to hand over his money.
* The flamboyant “Gorgeous” Allen Young plans to unveil CFW’s newest interview segment on the upcoming PTWN event on the 28th. The name of the show has yet to be revealed. However, Young’s first guest will be none other than the returning “Primetime” Perry Sharpe. Time will tell if Young’s segment will have the same level of success as past shows such as “Sensational TV,” “The Quizzler,” “Stallion’s Saloon,” “Tea Time with the Blue Bloods,” and “Hollywood & Vine.”
* A former CFW superstar, who has apparently been down on his luck over the past few months, is set to make his return in the near future.
* With the departure of its founding member and its second in command in December 2006, it looked as if The Forum Horsemen were dead in the water. However, word going around the Australian Outback is that the “Down Under Wonder,” the only member who is still left here in CFW, has been openly thinking about reforming the group. This time, it’ll be him solely at the helm.
* Eye witnesses have reported seeing Ace Andrews lurking around CFW Headquarters over the past several weeks. I’ve contacted my sources in Colorado Springs, the home of the self-proclaimed “Ace of Professional Wrestling.” No word yet on if Ace is planning a comeback here in CFW.
* “The Ultimate Excellence” Rage has apparently suffered a setback in his return to pro wrestling. While rehabbing a shoulder injury, Rage reportedly injured himself during a workout. No word yet on how serious the injury is.
