For those of you who know me, you are not going to believe that I now describe the tornado of 1996 that destroyed my home as a cloud with silver lining. I can say that now because for starters I did not lose the most important thing in my life - my family, and I gained a new prospective of life. I realized that you cannot count on tomorrow, and life is too short to waste even one day not doing what you enjoy the most. I have always shared my love of quilting with others in my home so when my husband encouraged me to open my own quilt business, I began to believe that my dream of someday could be a reality today. While I am not the most experienced quilter, my enthusiasm for quilting is infectious and I have a history of creating quilting monsters (definition: someone who had no interest in quilting but after an afternoon with Donna they cannot wait to start their next project). My goal is to offer the art of quilting at a reasonable price, at a level enjoyable to all. Class Schedule
I have really struggled with setting a class schedule because it just seems too rigid for me. I am here for you, at your convenience. It is my intention to keep my class schedule flexible to accommodate your needs. Therefore, if a class interests you, let me know a time that works for you. Also if a certain project appeals to you I am open to requests. I will not cancel a class or club I host due to low enrollment, however I prefer to keep classes low in numbers. My schedule is tentative at best; I will see what times work best for each group as we meet. Some classes will be held according to interest with the date/time set after sign-up. If a group of friends would like something held for only their group, I am certainly willing to accommodate them to fit their schedule.

Gammill Quilting Machine
Yes, it’s true. My husband brought me another sewing machine, and then he built me a shoppe to fit it in! For those of you not familiar with Thimbleberries, the patterns are quick and easy, yet the finished product appears difficult. Ease of construction is their trademark! I choose to specialize in the Thimbleberries line because of the additional support they offer to enhance their products. Beginning Quilting
This class is designed for the absolute beginner. You will learn all the basics of quilting: rotary cutting, several sewing techniques including strip quilting and easy methods for perfect triangles, pressing tips, machine quilting, applique and mitered corner binding. This fun “game piece” wall hanging is the perfect introduction to quilting. For Sale: Time to Quilt
“I wish I had more time to quilt.” I hear this every day, usually when I am talking to myself! Busy women, more than anyone else, really need and deserve a little “fabric therapy.” While I cannot actually sell time, I can help you fit quilting into your busy life. Quilt Support System- group of quilting friends that get together to quilt and share uninterrupted stitching time. You schedule the time that works best for your group, you make any refreshment arrangements, you decide what you will do: free stitching, group project, share new techniques, stitch & visit, etc. I supply the ‘homey atmosphere,’ for your group or guild and will be happy to assist you with project ideas or kits if needed.

Girls Night Out
2nd Saturday of Every Month, Sponsored by Stitches ‘N Tyme. Starts August 12, 2000. RSVP required.
* Open to public - great way to make new friends in a relaxed, fun atmosphere

The Works All Done! We have several different kits availablewhere the cutting is already done. These kits are perfect for the busy quilter who loves to sew, is short on time, and really won’t miss the cutting. The pieces are all clearly labeled for each step of the pattern. They also are perfect for those of you that would like to try quilting but are not quite ready to invest in the tools needed for rotary cutting. Usually extra pieces or material are not provided in the kit except when the finished length of a piece needs to be determined by finished size of quilt, for example a border. In that case the strip is cut extra long to accommodate different machines and/or seam allowances. An added feature of a Stitches ‘N Tyme pre-cut kit is that often I will cut the border strips lengthwise, eliminating the pieced seam required under normal fabric allowances.

Fabric Paks Available
Because we carry the full collection of the more popular Thimbleberrie and Moda lines, we are able to offer fabric packs of 1/4 or 1/2 yard cuts of full collections. This is a great way to build your stash:
* fabrics in a collection are well coordinated in color and design
* most patterns require less than 1/4 yard of any fabric excluding borders, binding, and backing. Because we stock the full collection, additional yardage is available for the larger yardage requirements some patterns may require
* 1/4 yard cut are fat quarters (Stitches ‘N Tyme always adds a free 1" to every cut)

Rainbow Stars
This pattern of 9 patch squares is one of my favorites. It makes a great throw for the couch but can easily be expanded to any size quilt. A wonderfully soft quilt that drapes beautifully in Moda brushed wovens, it’s also beautiful in the Moda wedding collection. We have samples of both in the shoppe.

Just For Baby Club
This club is perfect for the expecting Mom, or the overindulgent Grandma! Every month we will work on a new project designed just for the baby: of course a baby quilt, but also baby’s first pillow, nursery lamp, after bath wrap, bib & bonnet, mobile, and stuffed toys are just a few of the projects we will finish. Cost will depend on monthly project, you can pick and choose which projects you want to do.

Northern Star Quilt
This project is a Quilt In A Day pattern available in various sizes including a 42" square wall hanging, a 60" X 78" lap robe, or a queen or king size quilt. Purchase of Eleanor Burns Large Ruler ($8.95) or Small Flying Geese Ruler ($6.95) makes this quilt a breeze. This all day class will be scheduled for either a Saturday or Sunday (I will take a vote on from interested students on best dates to fit their schedules) in early fall so that you can finish the project for a Christmas gift. Folded Fabric Fun
The newest rage in quilting. Great for beginners, yet fun for everyone. This simple technique adds unique dimension to any project. I teach the technique, you decide whether to make a hot pad, placemat, pillow, wall hanging, or lap quilt. Great project for a mom and a daughter to do together; daughter receives her class at ½ off.

Say It With A Pillow/ Pillow Club
Browse through my shop and you will see, pillows are my weakness. I am addicted to hand stitched pillows, and fortunately I have shared my illness with my sisters, nieces, and friends. Pillows featuring special sayings make great gifts for any occasion. They are a neat decorating accessory, especially if you have limited wall space but enjoy stitching and/or quilting. They are great projects to take along in the car, or if you have a daughter like mine and sit at a lot of sporting events they sure come in handy for that bleacher time between games. Meetings will be held at 1:00 & 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of every month. The first Wednesday we will make the pillow top. Homework will be the stitching. On the third Wednesday we will assemble the pillow. New pillow every month, you pay by month.

Decorate your Christmas Tree
The second Wednesday of every month is ornament night. A different Christmas tree ornament will be offered every month.

Thimbleberrries Safe Haven Block Of The Month
The fabric was ordered in April for May delivery, showcased at Minneapolis quilt market in late May, and as a result I still have not received my fabric. It was so popular RJR Fabrics cannot keep up with the demand. I will offer the quilt as a Block Of The Month,- the class will be offered the last Wednesday of every month at 1:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and the 3rd Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The class is free to those who purchase the entire kit, which includes some Safe Haven surprises. Enrollment will be limited to the first ten quilters. Stop in or call for price information and more details.
