THIS POWER CHOICE IS PERFECT FOR THE BUILDER WHO WANTS SIMPLE DISTRIBUTOR IGNITION AND CARBURETOR FUELING

The 2.8 60 deg V6 fitted to the S10/15 is a compact 'powerhouse.!! The base engine is common, not only to the Chevy /GMC mini trucks and S.U.V.'s, but ALSO the 2.8 Firebird/Camaro. G.M.PERFORMANCE PARTS also have a 3.4 , 160 H.P "Crate Engine" available through G.M. dealers..or,...get a 3.4 out of a '93 to'95 Camaro or Firebird..(Same engine...bigger bore and stroke )The 160 h.p. is, by the way, assuming that the stock S10 'baby carb' and exhaust are used. Probably more like 180/190 with the Edelbrock intake/4bbl. Some brackets from a 2.8 are required for this option!

The lack of clutch cross shaft does not affect us, it is for the very cumbersome clutch pedal lever system used on the '82,'83 S10.We would not use this system, even with a cable clutch. All '84 on engines,with 5 speed, have a hydraulic clutch.

The best choice is 1987 THROUGH 1993 engines, with serpentine belt, larger crank bearings and H.O. heads as standard.

ALL 3,4 ENGINES ARE SERPENTINE AND ARE THE BEST CHOICE FOR A BIT OF FREE POWER AND TORQUE

We supply a simple bracket and pully to move the alternator low down, on the right side of the engine.
