Veggies, Fruit & WATER!
Given all the information we have by doctors and psychologists, we realize that there are instances of Encopresis that begin due to a stressor in life such as the death of a close family member. But regardless of the reason it began, we all know that diet is one of the main keys to controlling it. I have designed this page for parents of Encopretic children to use as a guide to a healthy diet in hopes of controlling the Encopresis. Hopefully this will help as I know it did us. Please remember, as with any advice, always check with your childs pediatrician before trying anything new.

Good Healthy Foods List
Always remember to give fruit vegetables and fiberous foods in moderation. Also, remember that some fiberous foods are "soluble" and some are "insoluble". Insoluble foods are the ones that don't break down in water and don't change much while going through the system. It causes the stool to soften and move faster. While soluble type foods dissolve in water and also cause softer stool by forming a gel in the intestines and help the waste to pass through more easily.
