The Planets of the Yhrniia Crystal Shell System in order of their distance from the Sun.

Niveus Cineris Thalassinus Abbatis Suspiro Minae Matris Calxi Abavis Infelix Iaceo Ossval Amita Mactabilis Yhrniia

Niveus

Most distant and remote of worlds, Niveus is yet bright and visible throughout the Shell System from the surface of the other worlds with a few obvious exception. It's reflective quality approaches an amazing 90% and this accounts for it's outstanding clarity.
Nearly any astronomer worth his salt would agree that Niveus is a lifeless ball of ice, most probably methane hydrates. Only a few scholars,(widely considered the leading crack-pots in their chosen fields) would attempt to posit that Niveus might support some form of bizarre life.
Niveus is a Class "F" planet, but there is some arguement as to whether it is classified an Earth or Water based Planet, with Mages of both schools claiming away the other. The estimated average daily temperature of the surface of the planet is believed to be at least 280 degrees below zero F.

Cinerus

In stark contrast to it's nearest neighbor, Cinerus is a world cloaked in perpetual shadows. The reflective quality of the planet is a poor 13% at best.
Cinerus is believed to be an "Earth" classed heavenly body with an unusually thick robust atmospheric layer surrounding it. The composition of this cloud layer defys all modern attempts at analysis.
With the recent advent of the use of the telescope, it has been possible for astronomers to view Cinerus under the visible light color spectrum, infrared, and also ultravisual spectrums.
The most recent findings of those involved in studies of Cinerus conclude that the planet itself produces enough heat to maintain an even 55 degrees farenheit globally all year round.
Speculations about this unusual phenomenon range widely and wildly and are not worth mentioning at this stage of the research being conducted by each of several reputable competing organizations.
One factor which many point to in their arguements against the existence of Cinerus' habitability is it's suggested size.

Thalassinus

Thalassinus is generally accepted to be classed as a type "E" Water based planetary body.

Abbatis

Abbatis is the largest body in the Yhrniia system beside Yhrniia herself. It is a class "I" Air based planet.
A select few of the most learned scholars of Ossval theorize that the core of Abbatis is composed of one huge class "A" sized compressed metallic and molecular hydrogen core, at the center of which is a perfectly round diamond suspected to be several score cubic yards in volume. This is as stated pure theory.

Suspiro

Suspiro falls directly into the mid-range of Class "G" sized Air based planets. It is not thought to be anywhere near as massive as Abbatis or her most closely matched neighbor in size, Matris, despite it's tremendous size.
Suspiro is thought to be entirely without a solid core, or at least these are the supositions of those who think that they if anyone should know or at least they wish others to believe that they do know.
The mean surface temperature of Suspiro is 260 degrees below zero at any given time. This makes it one of the coldest places in the Shell System.
According to astronomers who presume to cite the new science of spectrum analysis, light reflected from Suspiro surrenders clues which indicate it's atmosphere is composed largely of hydrogen and helium. Also, a good deal of chlorine has been detected there in the form of wind-borne ice crystals.

Minae

Minae is a class "D" Earth based world with strong ties to Fire. So strong are these ties in fact that it is considered equally Based in both Fire and Earth by at least 50% of all astronomers and scholars.
Being so far from the Sun, Yhrniia, one might think Minae to be a cold dead world, like it's neighbors. Instead, the average temperature on Minae ranges from 90 to about 130 degrees farenheit, and appears to be fueled by thousands of active volcanoes.
The atmosphere of Minae is highly sulphuric, mixed with cyanides, cesnium, and rubiniem vapors. A high concentration of Iridium dust coats the landscape where temperatures are more inviting.
The high concentration of Iridium in the surface soil and the agressive vulcanism of the planet lead most learned sages to agree that Minae is most likely a former and now errant moon of either Suspiro, Abbatis, or Matris, knocked recently from orbit by some world wrenching asteroid or cometary collision.

Matris

Matris is a smallish class "G" Water based world. It's surface temperature is unusually constant, varying only a few degrees from day to night-side despite it's great distance from Yhrniia.
This balmy free-flowing ocean-world has no known land mass. Not even an island may be found. Matris is believed to be almost entirely composed of water and to have a very tiny core of iron, gold, and zinc.
The constant temperature of Matris is a steady range of 90 to 100 degrees farenheit. No successful attempts have been made account for the constant warm temperature of the Planet, and so magic has been suggested as a cause for the effect.
Matris is believed to be the seat of power of many different culture's gods of the Seas or Oceans.

Calxi

Calxi, as it's name suggests, is a vast cloud of planetary disc debris left over from the time of the formation of the Shell System itself. Loosely translated as Pebbles, the Calxi indeed has the largest collection of smaller than or equal to Class "A" planetoid and/or asteroid bodies in the System.

Represented as a cloud on the chart, it's actual shape could be perceived as a ring of material strung round Yhrniia at a great distance,(sort of like a ring around a Planet on a much grander scale).
The Calxi is the source of great concern amongst modern astronomers due to recent cataclysmic events observed to have occured over the surface of Iaceo.
A massive group of asteroidial bodies rained on Iaceo in one great weave after another only just last year. The results displayed huge fires, massive vulcanism caused by possible crust penetrations, and a great cloud of dust and ash now blankets the entire world.
It is widely feared that such a catastrophe could happen again but this time on the heavily populated mother-world of Ossval. There would be no known means for it's resourceful inhabitants to prevent this from occurring.

Abavis

Abavis is a class "F" water based world, believed to have once been warm like Matris, but suffered some great calamity which ended it's ability to sustain a constant fluid temperate.
Scholars today would readily point to Abavis as being an early victim of a missle attack from the Calxi. No one can be certain of this as yet however.
There remains a school of thought which places Abavis not in the role of a dead world, but rather as one waiting patiently to be born. Whatever magics have made Matris the potential aquatic paradise it must be could be employed to bring life to this frigid wasteland.
Still other scholars point to the great wide cracks in the surface of Abavis and cite them as proof of a liquid sub-surface protected from the hungry void of space by a hot semi-molten core.
Most sage folk would argue that the cracks are merely radiating from impact craters or by impacts whose effects could be felt all the way around this huge planets girth.
I believe that no one shall know the true nature of Abavis, until someone braves landfall there.

Infelix

Infelix is the smallest world of the Yhrniia crystal shell system. It is only a mere class "C" Earth based world.
The original orbit of Infelix is a matter of hot debate. It does not appear to belong where it has now come to rest. The reason for such speculation is obvious. Infelix has the largest impact crater known to exist in the system.
It is likely that Infelix only narrowly avoided total anihilation during a collision with a class "A" sized planetoid. Whether this colliding body were earth or water, it's effect was tremendous and clearly visible even to the weakest of telescopes.
Had Infelix been closer to Ossval it might have been dubbed differently, for when observed through a telescope, it looks like nothing else but a great celestial peach, cleaved to the pit/core of the world itself. Indeed, the rusting cold iron core of Infelix is exposed.

Iaceo

There has always been a great deal of speculation about Iaceo's ability to support life. Many adventurers have thought to somehow venture there, and some few have apparently succeeded, notably a group of Acriun Missionaries of Knavas. Their exploit was widely known to have occurred, although the Church of Knavas and the Imperial Throne refuse to allow these individuals to comment publicly on their findings.
Iaceo's closest neighbor, (besides it's twin moons) is it's sister planet, Ossval. Iaceo is almost always referred to as if a masculine persona. It is revered and or feared universally as being associated with War and Blood.
A few extremist cultures of Ossval present hundreds, perhaps thousands of unfortunate sentients for live sacrifice during the thankfully rare conjuntions of Iaceo and Bire.

Ossval

Ossval is the Planet on which most all of the campaign adventures have begun. It is comprised of seven main land masses on a liquid water ocean system with a constant life encouraging temperate.
Ossval's hospitable environment maintains a vast variety of sentient races. Over half of these races are not indigenous, either having migrated from other Worlds, Dimensions, or Planes.

Amita

Amita is the younger, smaller, weaker half-sister of Ossval. She is a class "D" Earth based world.
There are no visible large bodies of water anywhere on the surface of Amita. Thusly it is assumed that this half sister of Ossval is barren.
Astronomers devoted to unraveling the mysteries of Amita have observed great raging storms which tear across the surface of the planet for days. Wind speeds of such storms have been estimated to be well in excess of 100 mph.
Amita has been associated with Goddesses of Lies, Deceit, and Revenge. Amita is called the neglected child of Abbatis, or the vengeful jealous sister of Ossval.

Mactabilis

Mactabilis is a class "E" eEarth based planet.
It has been referred to as the collector of mens souls, the messenger of doom, and the faceless thief of mortality's fruits.
Practically half of every culture on Ossval is in agreement with one another that Mactabilis is the final destination of the depated soul.
How such a belief could exist simultaneously across the entire globe without the benifit of any social interactions between many of these cultures remains something of a mystery. Needless to say it lends a great deal of strength to the support of these beliefs.

Yhrniia

Yhrniia is literally interpreted as life-giver from the ancient Dwarven tongue. It is considered a Class "L" Fire-based body and is the Primary of the Crystal Shell System of the same name.
When a people has come to a relatively stable or mature stage in their socio-political development their sage scholars inevitably turn to debate and argue at the age of Yhrniia, the Life-Giver. Most would agree that she is quite young, perhaps only a billion years have passed since her stormy birth. Experts agree that she was formed from a great disk of matter scattered from nearby exploding stars and birthed from a cloud of such fertile coalescing stellar material.
Zardanian astronomical authorities support the billion year age theory readily and point to it as the most likely reason for Yhrniia's system being chosen as the destination of their Exodus. Drow arrogance is widely known to contribute to their support of anything which even remotely validates their claims of superiority and primacy in all arenas of life.
