Scary Story
It was a cool fall day and little Jimmy was on his way home from school. Jimmy walked quietly, but happily, home, as most fourth graders do. His happiness soon faded as he felt the first drops of rain fall on his face. His walked soon turned into a run as the rain came down faster. Soon Jimmy passed a forest path. He knew this path would take him home much faster than his normal route. He had always been afraid to take this path because it was dark, narrow and supposedly haunted. Today was different, because of the rain, Jimmy decided to take the forest path.
The path was a little over grown. The tress had formed a canopy over the path, just right to block out most of the rain, but all light too. Jimmy wasn’t afraid though. He knew the path would take him right to his backyard. As Jimmy walked down the path cold, foreboding, breeze blew over him. Something didn’t feel right to Jimmy. He looked behind himself and saw the entrance to the path. That wasn’t the only thing he saw though. He saw not one but two, two glowing eyes. They were staring right at him from the darkness of the woods. They weren’t moving though. They were just sitting there staring. Jimmy began to pick up his pace, slightly though as to not draw attention to himself. He looked back and saw that the eyes were ever closer. Jimmy became frightened and started to run, faster and faster, but the eyes, those glowing eyes kept getting closer.
Soon Jimmy saw a clearing up ahead of him. Jimmy thought that he would be safe here. Jimmy busted into the clearing, stopped, and turned around slowly. Instead of the eyes he saw nothing but the deep, dark forest. Jimmy breathed a sigh of relief, and sat on the forest floor. Just as Jimmy believed that he was safe, he heard the snapping of a twig. He jumped to his feet, quick enough to see the eyes emerging from the forest. Jimmy was paralyzed by fear. He couldn’t, move couldn’t scream. Jimmy tried to move but all he did was fall. Jimmy rolled onto his back, quick enough to see the eyes right over him. He saw them clearly now. They were glowing with a yellow, beastlike, uncaring glow. The eyes were also making the most horrid sound. It was such a loud buzz. Jimmy covered his ears but couldn’t drown out the sound. To Jimmy it sounded like a familiar buzz. Jimmy listened closely and soon he recognized the sound. It was the sound of his alarm clock.
Jimmy hits the snooze button. He is covered in a cold sweat. Jimmy looks around. He is in his own room, His own bed. “It was all a dream,” Jimmy thinks. He shuts his eyes and rolls over. But Jimmy feels like he is not alone. He slowly opens his eyes and sees the two horrendous eyes staring right back at him.
Ok. The next two are projects for my English 112 class. We had to write a dialouge and argue points. Boring right? Well I did get bored so I made it into a Ranma 1/2 dialouge. Oh Ranma 1/2 and the names are not mine they belong to the creators. Hey I have read enough Fan Fiction to know to put that in there, Because I dont want to be SUED!
English Project 1
Participants:
No Father has negative affect: Kuno
Having a Father has a negative affect: Ranma
Moderator: Akane Tendo
The storyline. The story takes place, like it is the Jerry Springer show. Audience is present. Kuno and Ranma argue their points, while Akane acts like the host and tells how having a father is good. As a side note, when Ranma is splashed with cold water, he becomes a she, Ranma-Chan.
Lights up Kuno and Ranma are fighting.
Kuno is swinging at Ranma with his kendo stick and screaming: “I shall smite thee, thou vile fiend.”
Ranma dogging blows yells back: “Knock it off, will ya Kuno we’re not here for that. We are here to discuss our fathers, well my father, and you lack there of.”
Kuno stops swinging: “Thou hast a point, O weak one”
Akane looks at the two: Thank God you two have stopped. Can we now get back to the show? Well at least start the show! Geez you two.”
Kuno and Ranma: “Sorry Akane” Both Kuno and Ranma take their seats.
Akane: “Alright, that’s better.” Turns to crowd. “Welcome everyone to the first annual, ‘I hate my father, you have none, and mine is great’ day on our show.”
Kuno: “Well my lack of a father, hath no affected me much. I grew up, rich, well educated, and am perfect male. I accomplished all this without a father figure. I, unlike that fiend Ranma, will take good care of Akane.”
Akane: “Kuno, you idiot. This is not about me, but about our fathers. Got it?”
Kuno bows: “I concede to you Akane Tendo. Well as you know, I grew up with no father. I have turned out most fine, if I must say, my dear Akane Tendo. So not having a father doth not affect a child and his upbringing.”
Ranma shouts impatiently: “Oh shut Kuno, will ya? Geez, long winded as always ain’t cha Kuno? Anyway, now that that windbag has shut up Let me tell you about my pop. My pop ain’t that great. I mean sure, I’ve turned out fine, except for a few things, but its not exactly nice having him around. He is never trying to help me; he is constantly ‘training’ me, which means he beats me up, and says ‘How do you like it boy?’ Its not heaven having a father, they nag, they make you do things that you don’t want. I can’t stand having him around. Nothing he does is in my best interest. I can’t believe him.” Ranma gets increasingly angry during this speech, so he punches the floor, leaving a huge hole.
Akane: “Gee Ranma never knew you felt like that about your father. I’m sorry Ranma.”
Ranma: “Hey Akane, its ok, I don’t mind. My pops my pop, I can’t change him. No matter how much he does to me.” Ranma slams his fist down again.
Akane: “Well my pop is great, usually. He always is looking out for my sisters and me. He only wants what’s best. He did a great job of raising us. We never fought as kids. He is what held our family together. Much better than anything you could ever do Ranma.”
Ranma: “Gee thanks Akane. But I still think having a father can be a curse. I mean like I said before, look at mine. He is insensitive, mean, fights with me, grown men aren’t supposed to fight.”
Akane: “But Ranma, he did raise you and he brought you here, to me. So you see your father can’t be all bad right?”
Ranma: “Alright Akane, I’ll agree with you there. He did always try to give me the best, even if he was being dumb about it.”
Kuno: “Me doth protest. I still say tis better to not have a father. I fear if I did have a father I would have become an insolent fool, like you Ranma. Just look at home you turned out. So rude, so evil. While I, Tatewaki Kuno, turned out perfect.”
Ranma: “Listen you, I turned out fine too ya know. I don’t see anything wrong with having a father now. He helped me grow. He helped me to become the man I am today. And if you have a problem with that, I’ll…….”
Akane: “RANMA, No fighting! Kuno dear, I see nothing wrong with having a father, but I also see nothing wrong with not having one. I mean you do seem ok, even if you do talk Shakespearean a lot.”
Kuno: “What doth thou mean m’lady?”
Akane: “Anyway, do you understand too Ranma?”
Ranma: “Yeah yeah, But I still think Kuno would be normal if he had a father, I mean look at him, always fighting, talking the way he does, and he seems to have a few screws loose.”
Kuno: “How dare you Ranma. I am just as normal as you. I mean just because my father didn’t care about me when I was born, doth not mean he did not love me.” Kuno is in tears by this point. “Your father Ranma, if you can call him a father never tried to show he loved you did he? Mine did and made sure I could live with out him and become a fine upstanding citizen.”
Ranma: “My father helped me, and quit your blabbering. Its not funny. You need a father to grow up and that’s final got it Kuno? Or do we need to settle this another way?”
Kuno stops his tears and looks at Ranma: “Have it your way, Ranma. On Guard!” Kuno rushes at Ranma, sick of arguing who is right about having or not having a father.
Akane shakes her head: “Well it looks like we can’t settle this right now. So I guess that means the show is over for today. WILL YOU TWO KNOCK IT OFF? Sorry, Um… be here tomorrow for our next exciting show?”
