We'll keep you updated of gigs and parties, probably through the mailin' list, so join it for fuck's sake
If anyone saw us down the Ponty Inn the other week, i loved it!! Best gig in ages!!
Sunday 14/5/2k<\b>
We've finally got a date of performance after about 4 months (or more) of lying dormant, we're getting the old PV train running for the summer so we can tear up South Wales with our ten ton amps. As you may have seen, we're kicking off the Ponty festivals RockFest, which we thoroughly enjoyed last year, but first the 26/27 (TBC) of may in the Ystradgynlais welfare hall. It's a kind of Promo for the 'from the bus shelter' CD, on which our marvellous new song 'Free' features (Gloat!) Thursday 4/4/2k
We've got two more songs written and Free has finally Been recorded. And we're due to go on Owen Money's Radio Wales show, and Gang Bangor on Radio Cymru. If anyone is wondering 'Why no live shows lately?' It's basically because of these Bent exams we call GCSE's, but come the summer, no doubt we'll be playing in a venue near you.
Saturday 4/3/2k
Not much PV news yet, exept for the fact that we've been on the radio three times now, and we are about to make our first TV appearence later this month. If anyone wants to hear the interview on Radio Cymru, or the one on Swansea sound, then give one of us a shout, we'll send one your way (it's in Welsh, though)
We've almost finished recording Free now, we just need to finish off the solos!!
Saturday 5/2/2k
Sorry, ya'll, but I (Bob) have been waaaaaay too lazy with this news thang. Guess the milennium bug failed to wipe out our beautiful rock infested planet, so we'll have to continue with our bids for global domination this year too. We've just about got another track in the bag, called Free, co-penned by Mr Hughes and I. It contains the lyrics:
"sitting on the hood of my car feelin' mighty fine
suckin' on a Cuban cigar, and a bottle of wine"
We're going into the studio later this month to record it.
The whole band has been accepted to accompany our school to Canada in the October of this year. Everyone but Curty and Hinder are going ( sorry guys =( ) and It'll be a gas. As you might have noticed, the 'About us' page has had some new additions. I'll take this opportunity to introduce our new lighting man, Mr Richard Lewis, or Dick, as we prefer to call him. he'll be an invaluable member to team PV, once we get some lights, that is.......
Friday 19/11/99
Finally sold our first 100 CD's. No gigs this week, will know on monday if the gig's on in the Gwachel (Pontardawe inn)
Saturday 13/11/99:
After packin' up all of the kit in record time and collecting some well earned praise, we sped off to nearby Ystradgynlais Rugby Club, Where Steffan's Father, Keith, was hosting the Quiz night.
We kicked off with Aerosmith's 'Walk this way' which has been our show opener for about a year now. We then did a mix of our own stuff and old rockers, like Otis Rush's All your love, in which Steff took over the vocal duties, while Bob played the best screaming guitar solos that he ever had all the way through the song. His guitar parts in G'n'R's 'Sweet Child o' mine', which Steff also sung great that night, were a sight to behold. Jonny laid his guitar to rest and played the sax like a demon on 'Mustang Sally'. Aron, who was complaining of blisters at the start, got well into the swing of things, and put on an awesome performance through the night.
We ended the set with the ever popular Lenny Kravitz classic 'Are you gonna go my way' and sold a few more CD's to the baying crowd. Not a bad way to end the week, I must say.
N.B: Drewson might actually buy a copy of our CD?!?!?!?
