Serviceforce West Cornwall Sunday Football League

The re-formation of the West Cornwall Sunday League was greatly influenced by the late Peter Hickey. His team, Kennack Rangers were looking for Sunday morning friendly fixtures and due to the response, enough teams were found and the new look Sunday League was introduced for the 1985/86 season. The league is basically the result of a merger between the Falmouth & District, Truro & District, and Helston & District Sunday Leagues. Ten teams started the first season: Bickland Rangers, Copperhouse Inn, Falmouth Academicals, Goonhilly, Gweek, Kennack Rangers, Kernow Entertainers, Mawgan United, New Horizon and Rodney Inn with Bickland Rangers taking the first major honours. Since the formation, two divisions have been introduced as well as the League Cup. The two divisions have their own cup competitions as well: Division 1 have the Gerald Sobey Shield and the Peter Hickey Cup is the Division 2 Cup.
