Mysterious Mode by M. Nelson
I hear voices arguing and fighting
little people crying little tears and hiding
what is it that they hear that they're not liking
why is it that what they hear is an every night thing
it's the tension in the room that is so disquieting
the feelings, the tension, the anger is tightening
anger that gets all bottled up and leads to rioting
pretty soon it will all explode like lighting
I'm trying to maintain some sense of control
in a world where everything around me seems to be getting cold
home is like a house of cards, it's ready to fold
now everything is on my back like a real heavy load
and the way that I'm traveling is an untaken road
and the story that I'm telling still remains untold
because the poem that you're reading is written in code
and you couldn't understand it if it was written here in bold
my mind operates in much the same way--in a mysterious mode
