Manchester Academy of Higher Learning
Welcome to the Manchester Academy of Higher Learning's on-line home. The Manchester Academy was founded to create a easily understood tutorial for new people to the Role-playing world, the Pokémon realm in particular, to help them get the information and skills needed for them to be accepted as a suitable roleplayer.

First, what exactly is a newbie?

The terms newbie and moder are interchangable. However, newbie refers to someone that doesn't know anything about roleplaying where moder refers to someone that can do basic actions, but uses no dice or uses outrageous dice (5ds and above), and/or doesn't show any pain if they were hit, "not taking their hits."
All newbies are moders, but not all moders are newbies.
Basic tell-tale signs of a newbie of moder: If one or more of those apply to you, then you are considered a newbie/moder. The term newbie and moder aren't very PC (politically correct). I perfer the term "roleplaying impaired." But, one of the main concepts, something you're going to see me repeat often:
Newbie/Moder is a loosely used relative term.
That means newbie/moder is slipped into conversations all the time used to describe lessers. Basically it's an insult to put people down. It's a comparison, so I don't usually use the terms often unless I'm either extremely irritated or the person(s) are just so dense, they don't get how annoying and clueless they are.
But, the main problem is that RPers hate newbies/moders so much, they just ignore them ((*click*)) or yell at them, then click them. Now, how are they supposed to learn if no one is willing to teach them!?! -.-;
That's where this tutorial comes in. Hopefully after you take all the classes, you shall have become a suitable RPer from some "hopeless" newbie.
