Welcome!

Due to the extreme boredom I have been subjected to this day (30 Mar 2003), I have been forced to construct this website chronicling the time I spent in China for Academic Travel. For information regarding Academic Travel, may I suggest visiting the Franklin College Switzerland website, for there you will discover more about my college's interesting curriculum. Academic Travel is a part of the graduation requirement, though I don't have to worry about that because I am transfering back home next year.
But I am getting off track. During the period of March 7-22, I have visited six cities in China: Hong Kong, Guilin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi'An and Beijing. If I may, I will serenade you with the description of the trip, written by the professor who lead the group.
The primary objective of this academic travel is to introduce students to the history, culture, and economy of China. This Asian giant, which includes about one fifth of the world's population and has been growing economically at a rapid rate in recent years, is playing an ever greater role in world trade and international politics and yet remains a mystery to most Westerners. The group will visit the famous sites of ancient and modern China and will meet with Chinese experts to discuss history, the economy, etc.
Below are the links to each of the cities I have visited with commentary about the sights and pictures to go along.
Right. That's all. Hope you enjoy.
