I would like everyone to meet my 5 year old Emily. Or as we call her Emmy. Emmy was born a healthy and typical newborn. When she was 6.5 months old she got viral encephalitis. Which left her with a severe brain insult. Now she is total care and has been diagnosed with severe mixed Cerebral Palsy, severe seizure disorder, Cortical visual impairment, Chronic lung disease. She has a gastrostomy tube (Mic-key button) and is on the
Ketogenic Diet for seizures. She also takes four seizure medications Lamictal, Klonopin, Depakene and Phenobarbital.
She is also on Oxygen 24 hours of the day and has to be suctioned frequently.
She has a black and purple wheelchair, purple dafo's and purple hand splints. Okay we like purple!!!
This young lady has touched so many hearts and continues to do so each day of her life. We are so lucky to have been blessed with this little angel.
