TrAnSiTiNfO's MBTA Information

MBTA, known as Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority serves the Boston area with Rapid, Surface, and Commuter Railroad service. Approximately 1.2 million people make their way onto one of the MBTA's services each day, better known as the "T". The MBTA employs 6,500 people, who build, maintain, and run the system. The rapid transit system dates back to 1897, with the nation's first subway, the green line. The system contains a total of 181 routes and 252 stations (not including bus stops).
