Assalamualaikum Dear brothers and Sisters,
Welcome
back, those of you who are returning this semester and a special
welcome to those are begining the journey. The purpose of the Muslim
Student Association is to initiate a better understanding of Islam and
to bring an Islamic environment to the campus. The MSA takes a strong stand
for islam as a complete way of life. By this we will develop
a progressive, united and welcome community on campus, raise awareness
of Islam, and help people become better Muslims. The MSA is a proactive
organization based on the Islamic concepts of excellence and execution
(Ihsan and itqan).
Meetings will be held on the first and third Monday of every month or when deemed necessary by the organization. The time will be 2:00p.m. |
MCT is the Muslim Community
of Troy which together with MSA of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute takes
care of the Masjid Al-Hidaya. We have a very closely knit and rapidly growing
community. Weekly Halaqas, Quranic and Arabic Classes and three days a
week classes for young kids are the highlights of the activities besides
monthly dinners, picnics and daily iftaar in Ramadhan.
Fajr is held daily at 6:30am and Isha is held daily at 8:00pm. The Jummah Prayer is generally held in Old School 14 during the fall and spring semesters and in the Masjid during the summer and mid-semester breaks. The Khutba starts at 12:20 pm (1:20 pm, when day-light savings time is in effect), and the Prayer is performed right after the Khutba.
