I listened to an old man,As he spoke the other day.
He said a man is wisest, When his years have made him gray.
Life is just a game he said, You learn as years go bye.
A young man makes a foolish move, An old man wonders why?
Sometimes you'll have to face the wind, Or break off from the pack,
But never second guess yourself, Or turn a double back.
Life's a constant battle, And you'll win it day by day,
if you tackle it with courage, And don't let it slip away.
Be cautious of new faces, And the company you keep,
And see a man for what he is, Remember talk is cheap.
And listen to your elders, For rarely are they wrong,
Gain knowledge from their wisdom, And perhaps you'll live as long.

The Man in The Glass


When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to a mirror and look at yourself
And see what that man has to say

For it isn't your father, mother or wife
Whose judgment upon you must pass,
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass

Some people may think you're a straight-shootin' chum
And call you a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye

He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest
For he's with you clear up to the end,
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the man in the glass is your friend

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of life
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the man in the glass

SEIZE THE MOMENT...OR IT'S GONE FOREVER ......... Uncle BILLY
