Part 98

Alex looked at Mack, “I can’t believe it. You spend all your time planning and hoping for the moment and then it gets here, and you don’t’ know what to do.”

“I know, I’m sad that this is all over.” They were both trying not to cry. B.J. walked down the isle and then Mack turned to follow. She grinned at Nick and the guys and they all smiled back. She took her place and then looked down the isle as the music changed. Alex appeared on her father’s arm looking beautiful. Mack smiled as Nick’s jaw about fell opened and then he grinned. She looked back at Alex, she was smiling back at him and looked beautiful.

There were flowers everywhere, even in Alex’s hair that was piled on top of her head. Angel, B.J. Leslie, and Mack, looked perfect in their dresses with matching flowers in their hair. The guys all looked hansom in their tuxes, all but A.J. were smiling at a women in one of the pews whether it was wife, or girlfriend. All eyes them turned to the bride and groom. The lake looked like glass and sun was seeping thru the trees as the minister began, “Dearly Beloved……”

**

Alex laughed as she wiped cake off of her face. She looked at Nick, He even had some in his hair. “Would you like me to help you?” she asked innocently

“You have done enough thank you.” Nick said cleaning up the mess they had just made.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying the reception. They had listened to funny stories about the bride and the groom, before they met and even things that happened after they met. Brian had the most fun when he stood and told the story of when Alex died Nick blue and then didn’t tell him it would wash off after if dried. Alex just laughed as Nick shook his head in embarrassment. Everyone danced and chatted the night away. Alex noticed that A.J. and Mack had disappeared and looked around for them. Then Mack appeared next to her, her face was streaked with tearstains, “What’s wrong?” Alex asked

“I need to talk to you.” Mack said in a shaky voice. Alex excused herself from the table and followed Mack.

Nick had been talking to some people and noticed Alex leave. He caught D by the arm as he walked by, “What’s wrong with Mack?”

“I don’t know. A.J. said he needed to talk to her, and they disappeared. A couple of minutes ago I saw A.J. storm off and Mack was crying.”

Nick was about to go find them when Alex appeared again, but without Mack. He made his way over to the table where she sat down, “Is everything okay?”

Alex looked off into the distance, “I hope it will be.”

“What happened?”

She smiled, “I will have to tell you in a little bit.”

Nick nodded, “Alright Mrs. Carter, you better.”

Alex smiled, “It will be a long time before I get use to that. I still think you are talking to your mother.”

Nick laughed and kissed her.
