Seated with representatives of Chicago area libraries, Travolta previously served as the celebrity spokesperson for the Indian Trails Public Library District and appeared as a literary spokesperson in a television campaign for Library Cable Network.
Travolta demonstrated his love of the Chicago Bulls when he recently became an author himself. He personally insisted the publisher use only the Bulls’ team colors for the cover of his novel “My Fractured Life,” which has received five star reviews at Amazon.com since its release last month.
“Literacy and our American library system are vital elements of our communities. I am proud of Jerry Krause and the Chicago Bulls for supporting our libraries and their incredible employees,” praised Travolta. The Bulls supplied half-price tickets to library employees for the December 14 event.
“Just as fans continue to support the Bulls during their rebuilding, I hope the Bulls will continue to support the building of young minds through library systems,” said Travolta.
Library Cable Network reaches over 200,000 Chicagoland households; Indian Trails Public Library District serves patrons in Cook & Lake Counties. Both organizations are members of the North Suburban Library System (NSLS). Travolta has made performance appearances at libraries throughout the NSLS network of public libraries.
“It’s important to give back to the community,” stresses Travolta. “The NBA participates in Read to Succeed programs. As a performer, I give back in another way. The important thing is inspiring future generations to pursue their dreams and live up to their potential.
