"Grease" musical history was made this year with the first starring appearance by a Travolta since the film adaptation 25 years ago. To raise money for fine arts programs for underprivileged youths, recording artist Rikki Lee Travolta guest starred in four performances of the stage production.

The performer has built a reputation as a bankable star for producers looking to boost sales.

"Rikki Lee Travolta is a great role model, an amazing actor, and has an incredible voice," said director Christi Nicholson. “Fans of the movie were not disappointed.”

Also not disappointed are the charities and civic organizations Travolta campaigns for.

The American Hero Foundation, established following the September 11th tragedies, receives 50% of the author proceeds from Travolta’s new novel: "My Fractured Life" (ISBN 0-7414-1267-5). Travolta has also worked to benefit Broadway Cares, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and Even Start Literacy Program.

"People are realizing that Rikki Lee Travolta is not just a kid with a famous last name, he’s an awesome talent in his own right," said Donna Santucci, Bally Fitness.

"I’m just proud to be able to give back to our country and to help others," said Travolta. "It’s our choice how we impact this world."

Praised as "a wonderful novel" by Sci Fi Channel president Bonnie Hammer and compared by reviewers to the best sellers "Postcards from the Edge" and "The Basketball Diaries," Travolta’s book "My Fractured Life" is available at Borders Books and Music, through Amazon.com and TravoltaNet.com, or by calling 1-877-BUY-BOOK.

Proceeds benefit the American Hero Foundation.
