On October 13 the New York Post alleged that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg were conspiring to create a CGI movie star named Rikki Lee Travolta, much to the surprise of living and breathing actor Rikki Lee Travolta. Travolta is currently in Chicago training for his role as a genetically engineered soldier in the television movie HERO BEFORE DAWN to be directed by and co-starring Michael Dorn of STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION and STAR TREK NEMESIS, being packaged by Ryan Saul of Beverly Hills’ Preminger Agency.
In response to the New York Post, Page Six snafu, Travolta released a tongue-in-cheek statement through his manager :
“Rikki Lee Travolta respects the work of both George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, but credits his parents and God with his creation.”
The Post article had been picked up and run internationally.
Lucas and Spielberg have both joined Travolta is disputing the false allegations.
