A: Because as they evolved they lost some legs and the remaining legs grew stronger, a lot more useful for a sentient being. It is also belived that the gradual loss of legs increased brain freedom... allowing the brain to move onto new tasks and thus give it the first push toward sentience.

A: Another thing the Woodlice evolved where 3 very dexterous offshoots from their legs/arms, these gave them very good grasping abilities because they can move in any direction, allowing them to wrap around objects such as, say, a stick or more to the point a lightsaber or control lever.

A: More so than a human... but this is only because they are an older race than the humans. Generaly their intellectual growth is the same as a human. Woodlouseicus Superious have a greater use of the cognative areas of their brain than humans and their brain size is slightly larger. Woodlouseicus Superious also have a 3 lobed brain, this means that they are more resistant to Psi attacks on their mind than most species, they can be mind read but it is a lot harder than it normaly would be.
Q: How long do Woodlouseicus Superious live for?
A: At a base rate (basic modern Terran medical tech) they would have a life expectancy of about 90 years (a slight nudge above a humans) however their tech is quite advanced and is assisted by Penguinarian medical tech which is greater still (Penguinarian tech is mosty domestic). So with these enhancements they are likely to live until about 230 at average, though by this time most of their organs are cybernetic.

A: Quite big, about 30,000 light years diameter (with earth at its center). There are also Penguinarian colonies spread liberally around the "southern" parts as the Penguin Alliance spreads out accross the rim. To the "North East" border there is the Galactic Empire. To the "east" is the Ur-Quan hierarchy. To the "south east" is the Vulcan Republic. To the far "north" is the Xanarious exile zone.
