This is an entire strategy to use when you are protoss, and your opponent is Zerg. To start out, build 9 probes. Then build a pylon, and have your 10th probe build 2 gateways. For every 6 mineral patches have 10 probes mining. This is because there will always be a probe mining on every mineral patch this way, because there is going to be a vaccant mineral patch always, as probes always return money home....So anyways, now get about 8 zealots, which should be enough to counter a zergling rush. Then build an expansion, and mine it. Now build 2 more gateways and get about 20 zealots---Enough to protect against most hydra rushes. Now get an assmiliator, and start mining it and get a Cybernetics Core. Get about eight Dragoons to protect against small muta raids. Now build another expansion for more money. Build a Citidal of Adun, and upgrade the Zealot speed. When you have 3 bases, get 3 forges and start upgrading everything there. When the Citiadul of Adun is finished, build a Templar Archives. Research Psionic Storm, and get at LEAST six templar to defend your city. Templar are extremely valuable against Zerg, as they can destroy large numbers in short time. They are especially useful against mutalisks, because 'mutas' bunch up when they attack. Now you should start scouting. When you find them, try to see what they are doing. Get 1 more cybernetics core and 2 - 3 stargates, and another expansion now. Get about 12 scouts, and search for any expansions your enemy might have. Destroy them. Upgrade your scouts at the cybernetics core, and get try to build a ground force of about 30 Zealots. Another unit that is extremely useful against Zerg is Archons. Archons can kill Zerg cities at an amazing rate! Now is probably a good time to take the Offensive. Get a Fleet beacon and arbiter Tribunal. Get an arbiter and research the Recall ability for the arbiter. Get a Rob. facility and Observatory, and scout the enemy base with observers to find a bare patch in the base without much there...Bunch 24 zealots up close together. Bring your arbiter into the barest patch that you could find, and if there was none, bring it to the least defended part of the city. Recall the Zealot in the center of the 24 Zealots. You will recall them all. Get your arbiter out of there and have the Zealots destroy all the key buildings they can before they die. They should be fully upgraded by now. Then bring the scouts to the side of the city with the workers, and kill as many workers as you can. upgrade the scout speed. When you see hydras/scourge coming, get out of there as fast as you can. If mutas come, use your judgement. If there are only about 20, try to kill them. Then keep killing the workers, and attack the hive/hatchery/lair too. When you see support coming, run back to your main base. Build up another army of 24 Zealots. Recall them again into the enemy city, and destroy what you can yet again. Try to take out the folllowing buildings if they have one: Hive, Lair, Hatchery, Ultra Cavern, Defiler mound, Spire, Spawning Pool, and Hydralisk Den. Target those buildings. Oh yeah also go for the Queens nest if you aren't dead by then. :) If the 2nd Zealot group fails, then it is going to be time for a more powerful force...Make 24 Templar... (Yes, you heard me) and morph them into archons.Bunch them all up. Recall all 12 Archons into the enemy city, and do what damage you can. This should be very effective. If they have TONS of hydras, this is what i suggest. Psi storm the army with templar. Then go in with Scouts, Zealots, and Archons. This works very well. This is one of the best strategies against Zerg when you are protoss, and I have won many games with this Strategy. And remember...Deny them any expansions! That is one of the keys...Another useful tip is to build Photon Cannons at their entrnace so it is hard for them to exit their city on foot.
The Protoss are, unit for unit, the most powerful race in StarCraft. Their fighting troops cost a premium, but in even numbers the Protoss are second to none. Protoss units can take and dish out many times the abuse of the other races' units. They also have some of the most powerful spell casters and long range units. The High Templar's Psionic Storm is unmatched by any other spell in its sheer destructive ability. A single well-placed scarab shot from a Reaver can tilt the balance in a skirmish. The Dark Templar is a permanently cloaked ground-unit that can destroy Marines, Probes, Zergling and Drones in a single shot! The only potential drawback to the Protoss is the high amount of micro-management necessary to maximize their potential. Protoss units are very powerful, but high losses are unaffordable. However, if strength and power are your forte, then the Protoss are the race for you.

If you are Protoss, and your opponent is Terran, this is going to be a challenge. However, Terran is probably the race that requires the most strategy and skill, so very few people are masters of Terran. However, when you are playing against a player who is very good with Terran, it will be a tough game. Here are some strategies to help you. The key to beating Terrans as Protoss is scouting. If you do not scout, you will most certainly die. The problem is, scouting is not always easy early in the game. Early in the game, I suggest you use probes to sout. In fact, I strongly reccomend you do as you need a lot of Zealots for quick defense. Now if your scout finds that they are going heavy on marines, go heavy on Zealots. Now if you see that they are doing a "firebat rush", which is something that can really kill Protoss early in the game as firebats kill Zealots, you need to build something besides Zealots. Dragoons are excellent at killing firebats. Dragoons are large I believe, so the firebat damage to them is halved or quartered as I believe. However Dragoons do full or half to the firebats! Therefore, if you see firebats early, immediately start getting Dragoons. To make this possible, you should build an assimilator before you find what they are doing so you can be ready to build dragoons. Later on in the game, the two Protoss units that kill terran the most are Reavers and Templar. Against Terran, always have 5-7 templar. This is good enough to deal with most infantry threats. I have been in a game where 6 templar fought of three waves of 150 marines, so templar kill infantry with great efficiency. Now a very big problem when you are against Terran is the fact that they can cloak. To deal with this, have about 8-12 observers circling your city or if it is a small city just in a circle around it. One of the key units to beating Terrans are Scouts. Upgraded scouts can crush wraiths with ease, if accomponied by an observer. ALWAYS accompony attacks with Observers. Against Terran, it is not a good idea to do many head on attacks. This is because the Terran first line defense is VERY strong. So this is what I do. I first bring 15-20 scouts to the back of their city where the workers are. Then kill the workers, and run to the other side of their city. Then bring an Arbiter in, and recall 12 Zealots and 12 Dragoons. The dragoons can kill most air units, and the Zealots can kill the town along with any unit defense. You also may want to bring 1 or 2 templar along just to kill any troops. Another good offensive strategy against Terran is simply bringing about 30 scouts in, and doing "Hit and Run" raids. This is where you get about 3 shots off from each scout on one building, then fly around to the other side of the city. This is very slow, but works. And if there are no units near by, you can even destroy a building or two with the scouts before you run. Here is another excellent strategy against Terran, though it is rather basic. Get a lot of bases so you can have a lot of money and gas. Then build about 8 gateways. Start immediately having 4 gateways build Zealots and four gateways build Dragoons. This may sound foolish, but I have used it before, and I ended up with about 40 Zealots and 40 Dragoons. It worked very well. An ability that the Protoss have is Statis Field. Use this on the Terran defenses, and that will eliminate the Siege Tank threat. Bunkers are fairly easily destroyed with Zealots and Dragoons. If you are a frontal assault-type person, it is possible to break through a Terran defense. This is one effective way of how: The key to this strategy is reavers. What you can do, is bring in reavers. Have an arbiter cloaking the reavers but keep the arbiter back. If the tanks are in front of the bunkers, kill the tanks with the Reavers. There will be nothing the Tanks can do. Then start Destroying the bunkers, and bring in Scouts/Archons/Zealots/Dragoons or whatever necessary to assist. This works fairly well, depending on the complexity of the Terran choke point. Beating Terran with Protoss is fairly difficult and requires a lot of planning.
Playing another Protoss player when you are Protoss is quite a challenge. It is purely a case of "may the best man win." So here are some tips for being the winner. Always scout. Scouting is definately essential. And also always, and I epmhasize always (Unless you are rushing) UPGRADE! If you do not upgrade and they upgrade, the outcome will be nearly certain. Upgrading is a MUST for protoss vs. protoss, as it is for just about all games. Upgrding is going to be your key to victory. Now this is what you do in each of these cases:If you scout and find that they are going for scouts, then build Dragoons. Dragoons can usually take down scouts as they are on ground and are great anti-air. Another option is to get upgraded scouts of your own and try to out-number them. One thing that is Deadly in a Protoss vs. Protoss game is the Carrier. I said before (I believe) that carriers are not very good. However, against other Protoss players, they are in fact VERY useful because there are no scourge or ghosts to deal with. There are really only 1 or 2 solutions if your opponent is going for carriers.First off, you can build about 40 upgraded scouts. This takes a lot of food, but massed scouts are very effective against Carriers. Another option is to build your own Carriers backed up by Dragoons. And yet another option which is probably the best one is to get about 12 Templar. Psi storm will kill carriers and is your best option in my opinion. Now on to offense. Offense in a Protoss vs. Protoss game (Or in any game where you are both the same race) is very difficult. Therefore, in order to prevent your opponent to do a "copy-cat" defense (Building whatever you have on your offense), you must have a "counter spy" program so to speak. Have detectors around your city, as to destroy any enemy observers before they know what you are doing. And keep your strategy secret and let your opponent have no knowledge of it. The key to beating another Protoss player in a Protoss vs. Protoss is aggressiveness. Build a satisfactory defense, and then build small armies and repeatedly attack to keep them on their toes the whole game. You want your opponent to take the defensive, so you can take the offensive. You must have a mixed attack force when you attack, which should consist of: Zealots, Scouts, Archons, Dragoons, and maybe a few carriers, along with 3 templar. Psi storm is not all that effective against other Protoss units because of the vast health Protoss units have. However, scouts, carriers, and Zealots die to it or are crippled heavily by it. I suggest you bring a few Templar. Archons can be useful against Protoss too. What I suggest you do is open up your attack by recalling 6 Zealots into the enemy city with an Arbiter. Then have the arbiter cloak the Zealots and start attacking key structures. The front line Defense might move back into the city to kill your Zealots, so when the defense moves, bring your army in the front entrance. This is the order that your army should enter: Zealots first, backed up by Dragoons, then behind them a few Reavers with Archons, and Templar in the back.Have your Scouts everywhere helping out where necessary, and have the Carriers (if present) attack the ground troops and buildings. This is not excpected to work the first time, but it should severely cripple them. If they have photon cannons, reavers are the answer. If they have scouts, use your scouts and Dragoons to kill them. If they have Carriers, use everything that can attack air against them. This strategy is a very good offensive strategy against Protoss. And try to out-upgrade your opponent, out-number your opponent, and out-wit your opponent.
