*After they are done fishing, Link and Jess sit beneath the tree on the island in the middle of the lake.*
Link: I've told you about me, now I think you should tell me more about you. You said you're one of Oberon's children. Who is Oberon?
Jess: In my world, Oberon is the ruler of the third race.
Link: Third race?
Jess: Yeah. Humans, Gargoyles, and Oberon's Children.
Link: Humans? Gargoyles?
Jess: And Oberon's children.
Link: I'm confused.
Jess: Oberon's children, in Shakespeare's play. . .
Link: Who the hell is Shakespeare?!
Jess: Shut up and listen! We are a race of shape-shifters, sorcerous beings, tricksters.
Link: Ohhhhh. . .
Jess: Did the bulb light yet?
Link: *and the light bulb flickers* Bulb? *and goes out completely*
Jess: *sighs* I can see that you and I have lots to discuss.
Link: *it's now or never, make a move* We can go someplace, more private, to discuss things.
Jess: *slightly angered* What are you saying?
Link: *surprised* I. . .uh. . .
Jess: You think that just because I find you attractive, it's a reason to. . .to try and. . .
Link: No! No! It's nothing like that!
Jess: It's amazing! All men are the same! Even in different dimensions! *poofs*
*Jess reappears silently on top of the tree and peers over the edge to watch Link suffer.*
Link: Jess? Jess! I'm sorry!
Jess: *starts laughing hysterically. Rolls off the tree and floats down to the ground, still laughing.*
Link: *puts one hand on his hip and the other hangs at his side.* I fail to see what is so funny.
Jess: *chokes out* You are!
Link: Oh really? *starts towards her.*
*Jess makes and open and closed motion with her hand. Link trips and falls beside her, laughing himself. The two look at each other and instantly stop laughing. Link leans over and presses what is meant to be a short kiss to Jess' lips. He lingers a moment longer and Jess wraps her arms around his neck, pulling him into a passionate kiss. The two part and sit up.*
Jess: Sorry.
Link: Yeah. We should be figuring out a way to get you home.
Jess: *notices that the sun is starting to set* And it's getting late. Puck must be worried about me.
Link: Puck? He's your. . .
Jess: No, no. We're just close. . .
Link: Oh, I see. . .
Jess: He instructs me in the use of my magic. That's all. We're just mentor and student.
Link: Right. Come on then. *whips out Ocarana and plays the Prelude of Light. Takes Jess' hand and the two disappear in a flash of golden light.*
*rematerialize in the Temple of Time*
Jess: What are we doing here?
Link: I thought maybe Zelda might know how to get you home. And this is the closest warp point to Hyrule castle.
Jess: Zelda?
Link: She's the princess of Hyrule and the Sage of Wisdom.
Jess: Oh. You know, I was thinking. . .
Link: What?
Jess: I don't _really_ need to get back right away. I'm sure Daddy's happy to have me out of his hair for a while. And Puck was becoming aggravated with me.
Link: You want to stay?
Jess: *nods*
Link: Why?
Jess: *smiles* Because of you.
Link: would you like to go for a walk through Hyrule field with me?
Jess: I'd like that very much.
*Link takes her hand and the two walk out of the temple. The town is still active and many smile and wave to the Hero of Time and his Companion. The two make it out of the Village and out onto the field. It is already dark.*
Jess: Wow, You sure are popular.
Link: Yeah. Heh, it used to be that no one even acknowledged my presence. It's amazing how many people notice you when you're a hero. But all the attention sometimes gets on my nerves. There are times when I wish everyone would just leave me alone.
Jess: I know what that's like. Now that Oberon has started the gathering, all my "brothers" and "sisters" are returning home. I never get a moments peace. It's always: "Jess come do this" or "Jess check out that" or "Hey Baby, long time no see. Come over my place tonight and we'll see what kind of magic we can work together." *Link gives her a questioning look* Don't ask. Good old Coyote. It really gets annoying after a while. What do you do when you feel frustrated?
Link: *smiles* I go to the Sacred Forest Meadow. It is a very special place to me.
Jess: Really? What's it like?
Link: Quiet, peaceful, restful, relaxing. . .Why bother explaining? I'll _show_ you. *Whips out Ocarana and plays Minuet of Forest*
*The two materialize in the Sacred Forest Meadow. Saria's song plays loudly in the background*
Jess: *steps off the warp pad and looks around, awestruck. The fairies float around her, accenting her features in the evening twilight.*
Link: *To himself* God, She's gorgeous. . .*walks over and reaches out to touch her*
*Saria's song fades out of existence and is replaced by a softer melody. Link touches Jess' arm. She turns and looks up into his eyes. Her arms go around his neck as his slide around her waist. He pulls her close to him and the two begin dancing to the strange melody.*
At the Beginning
We were strangers*The melody fades and there is silence, save for a few Hylian crickets. Jess rests her head against Link's chest and listens to his heart beat. Link rests his head atop hers. Neither one of them want to ruin the moment by speaking.*
Jess: *softly* I have never felt this way about anyone ever before.
Link: Neither have I.
Jess: Link, when I go. . .will you come with me?
Link: *tilts her chin up so he can see her eyes* Beloved, I would follow you if you led me over a cliff.
Jess: What did you call me?
Link: Huh?. . .Oh. Beloved.
Jess: *smiles softly* Beloved. . .I like the sound of that.
*Link bends down and gently kisses her*
