V.S. Chochezi and Staajabu are the proud recipients of a 1994 Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission New Works Award, have been featured on Channel 10's "Basic Colors," Cable Channel 17's "One on One," are the coordinators and moderators of "Poetry On a Saturday Afternoon" at Carol's Books in Sacramento, in addition to being active members of ZICA Creative Arts and Literary Guild.

V.S. Chochezi and Staajabu have been published nationally and have performed their work at Creative images, Cal State Sacramento, Sac City College, Cuppa Coffee, Weatherstone, McGeorge School of Law, Nordstrom, Where 2?, Art and Soul Festival of Black Folklore, Broadway Soul Food, Valley High School, Lambda House, Barnes and Noble, Lioness Books, Luna's Cafe, the Blue Room-Jazzmen's Art of Pasta, Davis Whole Earth Festival, Fringe Arts Festival, U.C.
