"Not too crazy about his teaching methods. It's alright if your a grad student or a honors student. If you not don't talk his class. He can get very confusing." --PSC 141
"Be ready to work, he is a great professor and
you will learn a lot about government. He assigns a couple of research
papers during the semister, don't blow them off. Uses the www net,
e-mail, and movies in class. All notes are published in his webpage.
Not a lot of reading, I really enjoyed the classes. He will teach
you to think politically. Highly recommended." --PSY 142, 143
"Buy her study guide and know what notes she gives
in class. you may want to take her essay test. She doesn't grade as hard
on it. If multiple choice is your thing you will love this one." --PSC
141, 142
"Tough! Lots of hard work, be prepared for class everyday, but an A is possible if you can get into the 'mind set of Claunch'. Lots of applied theory questions on tests--all mc, but two answers could be right--you have to decide what he thinks is best. Didn't like the generalizations about lazy, bad attitude students, but our class worked hard to prove him wrong--especially those on the back row. Sit at the front and he will like you better--you need all the help you can get because you will earn every grade point from there. Think there are easier, more fun polysci profs." --PSC 142
"This guy is as good as it gets for Poli. Sci.
Expect to go and stay in class, role counts toward your grade. Tests are
pretty basic (from book and notes.) He gives quizzes throughout to help
out your grade. He is an extremely religious man and he will impose it
on you throughout the semester." --PSC 142
"He is pretty interesting. He is a hard tester.
But, he is very intelligent, and seems to enjoy teaching this class." --PSC
141/142
"Energetic. He is fired up for political science. I've never met someone so enthused about it." --PSC 142
"If you want to slip into unconsciousness this is the class for you. I found him extremely boring and thus ended up going out to the lake every week. He was in the CIA or something, but that was covered in the 1st day of class." --PSC 142
"'Bueller, Bueller, Bueller....Bueller.' Syllabus is more of a rough outline, class is pretty monotonous, and he's easily sidetracked with discussion of current events. Not to mention the fact that he talks softly and is hard to hear even halfway back in the row. If you can, avoid this class."
"I really enjoyed his class. He does get sidetracked
a bit. But it just makes the class more interesting. If you take good notes
and read the book you should get a good grade. If you have problems all
you have to do is talk to him and he will help." --PSC 142
"Dr. Kim is a great lecturer, his tests are waaaayyyy out there, but if you like a little spice in your life, the Dr. Kim is for you! And as always, SHOW UP FOR CLASS!" --PSC
"Dr. Kim is fairly easy if you go to class and
are able to look at things from his point of view. Kim's class really made
me think about America's governmental system." --PSC 141
"Boring, but easy. I didn't study but made an A." --PSC 141
"If you can sit through repetetive lectures this guy's okay. He has a very dry sense of humor. Test material comes straight out of his lectures. Easy guy. No attendance but very strict on his seating charts you HAVE to sit in your assigned seating. Do not ever move chairs out of their rows and do not ever turn the lights to dim...he freaks out. I promise." --PSC 141
"he will go off on tangents of personal nature
and can be very boring and sometimes offensive as a female, I was offended
by this gentleman's ancient, small town, east texas attitude women ARE
capable of being more than nurses and housewives.."
