Internet Dial-Up from a Modem(using ppp)

  • Access Numbers:

    On Campus Only
    468-7100 and 468-7140

    Instructions:

    Begin by checking to see if you have the Dial-Up Networking Folder located under the "My Computer" icon. If you DO NOT have the Dial-Up Networking Folder follow the directions beginning with the section labeled "Installing Dial-Up Networking." If you DO have the Dial-Up Networking Folder, double-click the folder to see if a "Make a New Connection" icon and a "My Connection" icon is present. If the "My Connection" icon is NOT present, follow the directions beginning with the section labeled "Installing Dial-Up Networking." If the "My Connection" icon IS present, follow the directions beginning with the section labeled "Adding Dial-Up Connection." Check this section for mistakes in the initial configuration.

    At this point your connection configuration is complete.


    Logging In

    You have successfully completed Windows95/98 Dial-Up Networking setup. Enjoy! Any questions should be directed to the Help Desk at 468-1212, or you can come into the Boyton Computing Lab for assistance. There are technicians available to set up you internet access for you, for a fee.
