"Dr. Bills is very enthusiastic about the material; he grabs your attention. You must attend lecture AND read the book. But, if you do, the tests are easy." -- HIS 134
"Go to class and he gives most of the test questions. Read the books and the text, take notes and the grades will come. He holds your interest, a great lecturer." --HIS 134
"Excellent professor. Gives very thorough notes, and always explains things very well. At the beginning of each section he gives a "hit list" that has seventy or eighty items on it. This makes up most of the test. If you follow it, you will do well in his class. Also, he holds a study session for students before every major exam, and goes over old tests. The questions are all essentially the same with maybe one or two words changed and the order of the answer choices changed. Overall a good professor and interesting lecturer, which is odd for a history professor." --HIS 134
"Early class but alot of fun. All you have to do is look up the hit
list and take notes in classes you can expect a high grade. I got a B and
I don't like history that much." --HIS 134
"After taking history classes from six different history profs, I can
assure you that Dahmus is not only the best history teacher, but the best
teacher I've ever had--PERIOD. Know your stuff for the tests, and you'll
agree. Be a slacker and you'll regret it." --HIS 318, 319
"Don't bother taking this class. He has no ability to lecture properly.
His exams do not come from the book or his notes. Go figure." --HIS
"READ THE BOOK ASSIGNMENTS! Take notes. Memorize important dates in
textbook. Tests are manageable if you have done the reading." --HIS 133
"Dr. Gregory was an excellent professor. I was scared about taking his
class at first considering he was department head. I really learned a lot
from his class. Study your notes and you will do fine. It helps to read
the book but it is not mandatory. He incorporates things that are happening
in today's time, which makes the class even better. He only teaches in
the early mornings, though. I think?!" --HIS
"He expects a lot out of his students. He does group work. No individual
exams. He has you meet with your group and he leads a discussion. Very
good learning environment. He keeps it interesting. If you participate
and take a group leader position, you are almost guaranteed an A." --HIS
"Very fair and very monotone." --HIS 131
"She is the best teacher! I learned so much and I hate history classes. She is great. She gives youa choice of wither multiple choice or essay tests. Whatever you want to do. If you are a good writer, I suggest the essay." --HIS
"She was absolutely the most fabulous history professor I have ever had. I dreaded taking the class because of past experiences, but I thoroughly enjoyed her lectures. Her multiple choice rests are not easy, but she does offer essay for anyone who so chooses. I adore her and would not consider taking HIS 134 from anyone else." --HIS133
"Mrs. Lowery is the most fabulous history professor I have ever had. Herlectures are incredible. Her multiple choice tests are not easy by anymeans, but she gives you the option of an essay test." --HIS 133
"Mrs. Lowrey is very nice. She goes out of her way to help her students
in any way she can. She holds study sessions before the exams and gives
students a choice between essay and multiple choice tests. Read the chapters
and take good notes and you will do well." --HIS 133
"Very good history professor. Has a little too much of the womens movement
in her class for my tastes." --HIS
"I wholeheartly suggest you take his class. He tells you how to get an A." --HIS 133
"An excellent lecturer, holds your interest. Do the reading assignments
and take notes in class and the tests are no problem. Don't cut classes,
he checks!!!! If you attend the lectures and complete the assignments,
you will do very well in the course." --HIS 133
"He's a very good teacher....does not have a monotone and he's very intresting. His test come right from the notes that you can take off the internet." --HIS 134
"I did not learn anything worthwhile in this class. He gives notes at 90 miles an hour, but he puts them on the internet. He gives quizzes over entire books. Tests are easy, especially the final --you get to use a cheat card. He also gives extra credit, but I didn't like him as a person. NO UT FANS SHOULD TAKE HIM!" --HIS 133
"He is very interesting. Note are printed on the internet. Test are
long and hard. He covers A LOT of material and it is ALL on the test."
