Dailey:

"Very laid back, but he moves fast unless you specifically ask him to clarify what he just went over. Then he asks if you have any questions, you'd better pipe up. Kind of a hard class for people who came from 102 as Pascal and don't know the first thing about C because of some of the concepts that get glossed over. The fact he throws in some C++ makes things even more confusing for first timers." --CSC 202

"He's still laid back, but now he's in his environment with COBOL and business oriented programming. Currently he's still using der Uber Vaxen for all class assignments, so you need to learn how to get around on the VMS nightmare. He expects to move to the PC's 'someday when I get chance to read through the manual'. People with C/C++ experience need to be wary... COBOL is to hackers as Holy Water is to Vampires. When they say 'a business language', they mean it." --CSC 211

"I took Dailey about 15 years ago for 321 & 326, I'll bet anything that he is still using the same problems. In 321 and 326 it was the cows and there off-spring and also the bikes. Quite a professor, I don't know about now, but back then he was a "killer". Made an A in both, but had to work my rear off. Of course, that was in the days of the ole Honeywell CP6. The "children" now probably have never experienced a CP6. The rumor was that there were only a couple of them in the world, mostly behind the Iron Curtain." --CSC 321, 326

Evans:

"He seems to know the information, but is disorganized." --CSC 340

"Dr. Evans is very disorganized. He spends most of the class period telling or showing us useless things. Then with the time left he very quickly "teaches" the assignment material. His tests cover too much material to finish in time and he makes the test as difficult as he can." --CSC 340

Grout:

"Outstanding professor. Saw him in a rainstorm fifteen years ago w/o an umbrella. Some how he made it to class w/o getting wet. This man can walk on water and not even get wet." --CSC

"Takes it very slow. Great teacher." --CSC 102

"He doesn't really know what he's talking about. When you ask him questions, he makes you feel like you're stupid."--CSC 102

"Java--I think that Grout knows programming very well. I have been able to keep up pretty well in his class, but many have complained that he goes to fast. If you have a solid background in computers, it should not be a problem. He is a pretty good teacher that is willing to answer questions during his office hours." --CSC 102

Hutchison:

"Pretty easy class. Lots of computer assignments. Extra credit given. Comprehensive final. Fair and helpful. Expect to put some effort in to make a good grade." --CSC 101

Pickard:

"I had this class when it was pascal and it sucked hard!!" --CSC 102

"Had this class when it was Pascal. Pickard isn't very good at simplifying things for students with no programming experience, but he knows his stuff. He's obviously more comfortable with upperclassmen and grad students than freshmen. Nice guy, and he really knows his stuff even if he can't put it in terms you understand." --CSC 102

Varnell:

"Dr. Varnell is not a good teacher for anyone. Nice guy, but he makes everything confusing, has a few kids that he caters to which happen to be the ones who have had programming and don't need this class. If you have never programmed I command you not to take this class or you will pay. He is quite possibly is the worst teacher ever! I say this and I even like the guy."-CSC 102

Wood:

"If you want the knowledge instead of the grade this is a great teacher. The class isn't extremely hard. But you will learn a lot.." --CSC 202

"Avoid this guy, if possible. He makes you feel dumb if you ask questions, and he is way too structured, i.e. he has a seating chart, he has a specific way for you to hand in papers, he won't let late-comers in until he wants to. A lot of busy work - not a good class." --CSC 101
