Eldred:

"This guy speaks in a very monotone lecture. If you have any phobias of speaking like most people this is the guy to take. Very relaxed environment. Very helpful. He really cares about how well his students are doing. (Take in the summer if you can...he can't fit in all the speeches...he often omits one.)" --COM

Frye:

"Don't take him! He's horrible. We never had one single lecture (only gave speeches), but our tests were extremely hard. They might have been easier if he had actually talked about a few of the things on the test. He can be very crude. Stay away!" --COM

p>"Dr. Frye has to be by far the worst prof. to take in the entire world. He has not taught me a thing besides how much money the state is wasting by employing him. If you have to take him for anything, just pray that you can live through it without pulling all of your hair out. I just thank God that I am graduating and he will not be able to affect my life ever again." --COM 401

Mayer:

"Dr. Mayer is a great professor, and his classes are pretty easy if you study. He does give a lot of notes, so be prepared. He can give 8-10 pages of notes in a fifty minute class; however, he does go back over things he has covered, and reviews very well for his tests. I highly recommend Dr. Mayer to anyone." --COM 306, 307

McCall:

"This class is so informative, and it pertains to real life. It is a very worthwhile class that everyone should take. McCall is interesting. You do lots of work, but it is all about learning from real-life experiences." --COM 370

"He's a good guy." --COM 370

"Quite a character. Entertaining. Best 8 o'clock you will ever take." --COM 370

"He is a really neat guy but does not give parameters. Likes for you to figure things out on your own. Fun Class. I may change my mind if I don't get an A." --COM 510

Mullins:

"Very fun class. I was scared to death to deliver my first speech, but by the end of the semester, I loved it. He is awesome. Take him." --COM 111

Nichols:

"Very fun class, very good teacher - one of the best at SFA! He challenges the class to participate and grades mostly on participation and how much you try. If I could have had him for all my classes this semester, I would have had a 4.0! Take Nichols for speech! You will be glad you did! You will learn a lot!!" --COM 111

Parker:

"She is an excellent professor who really cares about her students. Students receive excellent instructions and grading criteria for assignments. She also uses PowerPoint when lecturing so note taking is easy." --COM 270, 315, 415, 503

Dr. Towns:

"He is a super guy and seems to really care about the students. Since it is a special problems course, I don't know how good he would be in a classroom." --COM 575

"Dr. Towns is also an excellent professor, and he makes his classes very informal. However, his classes are not for the shy and retiring. If you're looking for a class that you can just sit in, take notes, and take an easy Scantron Test, Dr. Towns is not for you. He grades heavily on class participation, and his tests are not easy; however if you pay attention in class and follow the syllabus you will do well in his class. If you must take a dreaded eight o'clock class, I encourage taking Dr. Towns Interpersonal 170 class. It's a good way to wake up in the morning, and very interesting. If you want someone who will challenge your thinking and is a nice guy to boot, Dr. Towns is the one." --COM 170

"If you give 100%, Dr. Towns will give 110%--promotes success, dedication, self-discipline and independence. If you're a slacker, don't take his classes. His classes are not extremely structured on a daily basis--more open-ended discussions and thinking. He's one of the few teachers who grades participation. His absence policy will cut you if you have a liberal belief in class attendance." --COM 170
